But he's 29. No resale value. So no.
I'd rather we broke the bank to get Javi Martinez.

A complete chunk of manure of a post. Fuck resale value, we buy a player to get the very best out of him, not to sell him at some point down the line, I fucking hate the whole "resale value" bollocks. Add to that, despite his age De Rossi could still give us more than Martinez could, because the latter is horrendously overrated.

I also agree, especially the Martinez part, not sure he's quite as good as many would be led to believe.

does anybody know why he wears one long sleeve and one short one when he plays ?
is he covering a tattoo?
Could be wrong here but I think he has a political tattoo and keeps it covered up. I'm sure I read somewhere on here that he is a member or supporter of a right wing party

We need a right winger...He'll do.

Its not a chunck of manure - many many top clubs and manager such as Wenger do consider age and resale value of the players they buy and punt them or only offer then yearly contracts - Rags seldon buy anyone of 28 ish or more as do a number of other clubs expecially for those players valued at 20 million and 1ooK plus a week

Now from a City perspective we dont know what Khaldoons thinking is do we just buy and write off any reslave value or do we buy younger players whom have some value in the transfer value at the end of their contract

I would suggest that the our biggest transfer fees under Mancini has been on players sub 25 - 26 in the main

I'm not surprised you've stuck your nose in. You mention Wenger, but don't forget the fact that he hasn't won a trophy in 7 years, and more importantly on this topic, his transfer record has been abysmal in recent years (Vieira and Henry for reduced fees, Fabregas and Nasri sagas, the same now happening with van Persie) so to use him as an example to give backing to your petty resale value argument is ridiculous.

As a player he is exactly what we need.

Downsides are the doubts about his family situation and sciatica.

Everything else is good.

DeRossi or Javi Martinez given the choice ?

DDR. Building on what we've achieved so far is more important than buying someone who may become as good as DDR in 3-4 years just because everyone has a lob on for Spaniards and resale value.

Another reason in three years time DDr Razak if he continues to improve will be an ideal replacement without it costing a penny. Buy Martinez it could be seen as blocking the path for the academy products.
