De Rossi

He would be perfect in the middle. He can do what Barry does now against the top teams and if Yaya get's injured or goes to AFCON then he can play his role (to an extent), he's powerful and at the same time elegant, but most importantly intelligent which is why he's looked so comfortable and accomplished in the sweeper role for the Italians. Of course, if circumstances arise which cause Mancini to opt for the 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation, then he'd certainly fit the bill at the back. A massive 'yes please!' from me.

Daniele will make a great impact from the get-go, and will probably have three years of the highest quality in him. And even when his capacity drops slightly, he'll still be a very good player.
Martinez would be a better long-time alternative though if the re-sale value was of paramount importance..

It sounds a bit greedy but this could very well be the best option for the here and now. Building for the future is great but many of us forget that a few years ago if you told anyone outside of the UK you were from Manchester they'd probably crack a smile and reply with "Ohhh Manchester United!!". We won the league, but we've only done it once (recently ;)). We still have a lot of brand building to do and we can only do that by winning more high profile trophies as soon as possible. DDR is the best option for this route. We realistically would only need 3 great years from him too - Imagine if in 3 years we've won the league twice more, reached the CL final, even won it perhaps? FA Cup or two in the mix? League cup? That's one hell of a base to continue building from.

Roma are one of the clubs interested in Savic for what it's worth.

(insert swap deals never happen graphic here) ;)

They may be putting 2 and 2 together, but Roman media are claiming £24million (30 million Euros) + Savic bid!

I really love his vision and long range passing ability that our team severely lacked last season. I admired his ability to pass a ball 60 yards, effortlessly, without the receiving player having to move an inch or even the ball has the backspin back in to his teammate's feet as well. Only world class player could do that with ease like him.

De Rossi and Yaya Toure as a midfield partnership would be about as good as it gets. Yes please.

Doubt it'll happen but a midfield pairing of Yaya and De Rossi would be unstoppable... It would be a joke seeing them play against Carrick and Cleverley lol

If he wanted to come to City, all he had to do is not sign a contract 6 months ago.

Tells me that this is wishful thinking based on harmless quotes.
He loves Roma and re-signed a contract to enable them to benefit financially if he was to leave. However he is reaching end of his career and is a born winner. He had hoped Roma would improve and qualify for CL, but they havent. Ultimately he wants success and he may have decided he has more chance of success at City?

He's a beast, he's a warrior, one of the best players in the world. And I have a man-crush on him.

cavani/balotelli

I know mate. It makes you salivate, De Rossi, Yaya, Silva, Nasri is as close to the quality Barca has than anybody else.

Our defence was best in league. Our midfield was best and now probably stronger and our attack is immense and Cavani would complete it.

We just need a few squad signings for cup comps and for AFCON and we are away with it. If Johnson is kept I'd like to see him on the left whipping the ball in with his left foot instead of cutting in, Ramirez/Navas/Di Maria doing same on right side. Perfect for defense minded teams.

Cavani excels in set piece which compliments our already record topping set piece stats. We were best last year and Cavani would make us even better :)

You make a lot of sense my friend. Nice to come across such insightful, rational and sane posts.

I wonder if we'll get to see Nasri as a central attacking mid position, on a regualr basis. With him there and Yaya and Daniele behind him, I dare to say we would have on of the two greatest midfields in the world.

Daniele will make a great impact from the get-go, and will probably have three years of the highest quality in him. And even when his capacity drops slightly, he'll still be a very good player.

Cheers.

I personally think Silva on LCAM and Nasri RCAM is best for team. But I do believe Nasri will turn up the heat next year just like Silva did.

I studied Nasri a lot and his downfall is holding the ball too long and being closed down and then making the wrong pass. He needs to deliver his passes quicker but this will only improve with understanding and chemistry. Out of all our players he linked up best with Tevez.

He's a lovely player and young. He was a much better buy than the media give credit for, only 4million more than Downing and 8million than Henderson.

I like Martinez but he's a better CB than CM/DMF imho. I watched Bilboa loads last year and whilst he shone he did look like a player who's 2 years away from being top level. I think his flexibility hinders him a little in fairness, he's asked to do so much! De Marcos impressed me but Herrera didn't. If I was to choose a player it'd be Muniain but he'd only be needed if we moved Tevez on.

Players I want to see if De Rossi, Mascherano or Alonso. All are top level DMF and can all pick a great pass. De Rossi is most getable out of the 3 imo as his team aren't in CL and the other 2 play for the best teams in the world at the moment.

-- Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:08 pm --

Competely agree.

Style of play is important for players to adapt. He'd struggle to find a top team in England or Spain that fit him as good as we do. We play like an Italian team and he'd slot in. Putting my bias aside I struggle to see how he has a better opportunity to move and it to work out, City are perfect for him. Italian manager to help him settle too. Ffs just sign already!!!

De Rossi would be immense with yaya
Hart
Richards Kompany Lescott/Skirtel Clichy
De Rossi Yaya
Silva Tevez Nasri
Aguero
would be on paper probaly second behind Barca
De rossi`s indicated that his intrested Mancini wants him make a move for 25 mill and we`d all be happy

City should pounce at this man. The way he pissed all over Rooney in tonight's match, showing not just incredible strength but also passing accuracy and ability to read the game. An incredible player who would be perfect at our club I think.
