If he wanted to come to City, all he had to do is not sign a contract 6 months ago.

Tells me that this is wishful thinking based on harmless quotes.
He loves Roma and re-signed a contract to enable them to benefit financially if he was to leave. However he is reaching end of his career and is a born winner. He had hoped Roma would improve and qualify for CL, but they havent. Ultimately he wants success and he may have decided he has more chance of success at City?

He loves Roma and therefore City have to pay the price of his love !

We'll pay for his quality. And he'll be worth every single penny.

Just like Chelsea had too with Sweep.

If we had got him on a 'year left' deal as was being thrown around at the time, 8m or so, it would have been nothing short of daylight robbery. Even if we have to pay 20/25m for him for 3 seasons of his quality that will pay for itself.

What a fucking player... Him and Yaya would walk over any midfield in this league. Would be piss funny to see them against Carrick and Zidane lol... Btw anyone else rate Montolivo tonight? Thought he played extremely well.

Yeah Montolivo is a great player but unfortunately he's gone to Milan on the free. I'd be surprised if we didn't enquire before he chose Milan.

Ah thanks, didn't know that.

I wasn't impressed with De Rossi for Italy last night. On the basis of that performance he wouldn't get in our first eleven.

In that case, you are probably one of the worst judges of footballing talent ever.

It wasn't vintage De Rossi to be fair.

That may or may not be true, but i didn't think he had a great game, at least on this occasion. Opinions..

I agree... it was only a very good performance.

That's right mate, I wasn't too impressed either but luckily I've seen much more of him to know he is a far better player than that performance would suggest.

At City he may also set a trend for shirts with one long, one short arm, they'd be great for the unpredictable weather in Manchester, particlarly if the arms zipped on and off.............

Fair enough, I thought he was superb as usual, battling as ever, never put a foot wrong.

Except the right foot when he missed an open goal from 2 yards out..................

De Rossi was good defensively last night; made a few decent challenges, but he was poor in an attacking sense and given that Italy were attacking for most of the match this meant he had a reasonably poor game. Milner moved inside and made it difficult for him to have a big impact on the game hence he was substituted. He miss-placed a few simple passes and really should have scored. Not his best performance but that shouldn't put us off, he's a top player.

Was hardly a tap in to be fair ffs.

De Rossi is one of the best in the world - no doubt.

Thought De Rossi was the best player on the pitch apart from Pirlo... he would fit in well alongside Yaya in the defensive midfield twosome...
