Deacon blue

Amazing band and even better live. Have seen them many times and was due to watch them at the Apollo Manchester in Nov but it has now been rescheduled for next year.

Never owned a single record of theirs but saw them years back at Leicester uni with girlfriend at the time, and was blown away (by the gig, before you ask).

They played near 3 hours and put on an incredible gig, made you feel part of a communal cathartic experience, and the lead singer told some fantastic tales over and between the music. The only gig I’ve ever seen that I’d compare to Springsteen. Honestly one of the best concert experiences I’ve ever been a part of. No idea if they are still as good, probably not, but back then when they were hungry for success they were so so good live.
