Is on at 11.20 tonight on Film 4. If anyone hasnt seen it, its a great film well worth watching or recording. Directed by Shane Meadows with Paddy Considine giving a fantastic performance. You won't be disappointed!

I've known Paddy for a few years, one of the soundest and most humble guys you will ever meet. Hates the idea of being famous, I think he will do more writing and directing than acting in the next few years.

Yep. Going to record it. Excellent film. And anyone who hasn't seen it, do yourself a favour and watch it.

On the subject of Shane Meadows, 'This is England 88' hasn't lived up to expectations...so far. I've been recording them and the 2nd one(when Smell finds out what's going behind the scenes, as it were!) was slow and ponderous. Too many shots of an emotional Lol - either in the prison or visiting the Irish nurse, etc.
This time around it's more like a series of vignettes featuring individuals, telling an individual story as it relates to them, as opposed to a film focusing on the togetherness of the group, like it was in the earlier ones. I miss the sense of 'them and us' that made it such a strong program.

Still, it's infinitely better than most of the other garbage found on the screens at the moment.

Thats good to hear but I cant help thinking he'll be missed on the big screen. His performance in this and maybe even moreso in the brilliant 'A room for Romeo Brass' put him right at the top as for as actors go
