One week of not getting paid for all of my hours would have seen me walkingMy boss is the dead wood at my place. Fucks the programme up on every job, selling his arse to the client with unrealistic expectations. Blokes on site get there and have to work unpaid overtime to get anywhere near the deadline and do the job correctly that he's underpriced and over-promised.
I've always grafted and also worked smarter, but some have grafted too hard and indirectly given this guy the permission to flog everyone and create an unpaid long hours culture within the team. Shame as its overall a good employer, but my notice has gone in as I'm fed up of being a dogsbody and working 60 hrs every week for 37.5hrs pay and no life. Three of us have resigned in the same week so the axe will come down on the bloke at some point. I'm just looking forward to completing my notice and accepting a new role soon.

Done it for 18 months, always stood by the bloke and thought others were harsh who called for his head. I've figured out he's a smiling assassin and a liar, which hurts.
But I've always given my all, my loyalty and direct apolitical approach will be a better fit elsewhere. Confident in my ability that something concrete will come up in the next week or two, following some positive conversations. You live and you learn; risky move jumping out of the boat without another one to jump into, but I've got morals and a set of bollocks on me.
The people who might agree with you are too busy to waste their lives on here ;-)Honestly I work with some real lazy toads, does anyone have the same. Tell people they need to do something chase it up a week later and nothing has been done. The general excuse I find nowadays is ''sorry I didn't understand'' or ''I thought you were going to do that'' even though your email and meeting couldn't have been clearer. I work with one lad who must do a grand total of 4 hours a week and thinks he can go under the radar just by being the cocky funny guy.
First question in the recruitment process should be which team do you support.I had a teenager turn up for his first day wearing a united shirt. He managed to get as far as taking his coat off..
Yep, far too many pen pushing non producers.this covid is going to sort men out from boys more so office workers middle management some companies still running with working from home will show up how little they know or how much they actually do
To be fair, with home working, it is wise to let the right people know what you are doing. The dead wood in question aren't because they're doing nothing.
