Since Jesus and Bernardo are both capable of playing wider roles I think we'll be OK.
Also might give Foden some more gametime playing through the middle.

Piss poor from the medical staff to allow him to walk without a brace and crutches both after the game on Sunday. The fact he was still walking through town on Tuesday with nothing is even worse.

Even with the slightest suspicion of ligament damage, he should have had a stabilising brace on.

Not a great track record with these knee injuries and immediate treatment. Both Mendy and Gundog tried to play on.

Hopefully we're looking at 3-4 months rather than 6-9
Would walking on an ACL injury make it worse? Can a tear or damage be seen immediately after injury occurs?

Walking and ACL Injury
Walking should not cause any further damage if you feel less pain, you have recovered your sense of balance, maintain an even and steady pace, and avoid the sudden twisting movements that caused the injury in the first place. It is best to consult your doctor. Most doctors encourage ACL patients to walk and exercise as soon as they can after the injury, especially if it is relatively minor.

Club say damages not ruptured, perhaps because they don’t know the extent of the injury but if it’s not ruptured it could go from a season ending injury before it’s started to a could be back after Christmas if he recovers well.

Either way, it’s a Big loss. We lose something from our side without Leroy as an option. Nobody else in the squad offers the things he does. Sterling on the left isn’t the same as he can’t go on the outside due to his refusal to use his left foot. He was the one that prevents teams pushing up too high as we saw when he constantly caught Liverpool out in the 10 minutes he got.
Hopefully when Mendy is back fit we'll have him overlapping to deliver with his left from the lefthand side.

More of Bernardo out wide ..... More of Foden in the middle ...... Sterling on his preferred side ..... and the opportunity to use Mendy & Cancelo more ..... All sounds good to me.

Get well soon Leroy .....

Have to feel for Sane even if he wants to leave.
wrong and wrong.

club haven't confirmed the nature of the injury. if it's a full tear, like Mendy and Gundogan, then yes, it's minimum 6 months. until that is confirmed, let's not assume the worst.

I have enough experience to judge that such a injury which has been confirmed to require ligament reconstruction will mean a minimum of 6 months off.

for the experts on here, are there any surgical options for ACL damage without a reconstruction of the tendon?

because even if he has only partially torn his ligament, the reconstruction would pretty much take him out for the season.
