Guys, guys, we're not letting him run down his contract. Pep is the last manager in the world who is going to play someone with one foot out the door. He goes to the highest bidder this summer (and someone will bid the 50m or whatever it'll take).
Correct, and we are the last club in the world to turn down £50 m offer for a player that will go for nothing, when he doesn't want to be there and we can use the money to replace him.
He’s a good player who’ll do well at Bayern. We were successful when he played, we were successful when he didn't. We were fine with him we’ll be fine without him.

Manchester City do not need the money as their finances have not been hit hard by COVID-19 following the $500M Silver Lake investment in December. 'The box is full’ meaning they do not need to offer a discount on Sané and give Bayern a discount. [

May well be but think we’d prefer £50 mill than nothing.

What are are our goals scored to now versus this point last season? I'd say pretty close. The reason we are 25 points behind liverpool is because laporte got injured and we've missed as many gilt edged chances as I've ever seen a team miss. Going forward hasn't been an issue.

True to a degree, but there was also a drop off in intensity and level of performance in far too many games (Wolves x 2, United x 2, Norwich and Newcastle all spring to mind), compared to the 2 seasons before, plus Sterling, who we would probably look to most in Sane’s absence, was frankly fucking dreadful from October onwards. We may unquestionably have missed Laporte the most, but we missed Leroy badly as well IMO

Sane is without doubt a hugely talented individual and proven top PL player with both key assists and goals versus top teams. At times he has been simply unplayable and on his day one of the most exciting players in PL for both fan and neutral to watch.

To try to replace his proven PL effectiveness and skillset would be both incredibly difficult and incredibly expensive to achieve. I was gutted for him when he got injured. A really nasty injury for such a talented player to have to endure, particularly at his age. As a fan its difficult to comprehend the crazy world that is top flight elite football and the circus and money that encompasses it. As he never signed the new contract and it currently seems more likely that hes leaving us than remaining, whats the difference & from what date would that difference have been applicable from?

Its quite scary to think in just x2 years we will have lost the hugely talented proven PL experienced players Vincent Kompany, David Silva, Kun Aguero and Leroy Sane from the squad and only received £35-50 million in total...its a good job they are saying the transfer market iwill be depressed as to replace those guys is some job.........at any cost

Firstly, Sane shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as the other 3 & secondly, we're not a selling club so we wouldn't have been looking to cash in on Vinny, Dave or Kun.

Think you are missing the point - there is a massive difference between a footballer running his contract down and us normaltons moving jobs - but you carry on - and enjoy your day
No there isn't. Sane signed a contract to play football for us, not to make us a profit. You're deluded by emotion, trying to justify your irrationality because he's on a decent wage and we won't get a transfer fee back. That's the risk you take as a football club when you sign a player, it's calculating the profit/loss balance, otherwise why not sign every 20 year old on a ten year contract? We don't because we don't know if he'll get a career ending injury after six weeks, although with your irrationality you'll probably try to blame Sane for that too.

Apart from Sane for who we’ll get back what we paid, the other 3 along with Fernandinho and Zaba have all left at the end of their careers after spending their best years with us that’s a good thing very few clubs achieve. We are one of the few clubs that get to not be a selling club and get full value from our purchases.

I said in a different thread I think Sane's absence has caused us more problems than Laporte's, even defensively. Attack is the best form of defence, teams counter attack against us more when Sane isn't in the team because we pose much less of a threat if we win it back and break. Inverted wingers slows us down because we're attacking the defenders, not the space. Sane's goal against Liverpool the season before was a perfect example, exploiting the space the right back had vacated.
