But is his financial position so strong?? Speaking out loud, not to you Billy necessarily if he stays until the end of his contract does anyone really think Bayern will still pay him 300k+ per week and give him a 5 year deal. No chance they give such an amazing contract to a player that has barely played in 2 years. Too much risk involved. 2 years is a long time in the football world.
This assumes he doesn't play for Germany, and City leaves him out cold. I doubt that gonna happen.

I think they'll come and get him at the end of the season, bit at the latest in December. But let's not fool ourselves. Bayern would sign him to a 5 year contract now or next summer. The only question is whether we'd let him go or not.

There’s no greater sign of “trust” than here’s double your wages after 1 year at the club. None.
Sane didn't see it that way apparently. Like I've agreed with a poster earlier, he has a serious arrogance issue about him. But it's is also true that he was not favored. It used to be him and Sterling, then we brought in Berny then Mahrez and on a few occasions played Gabby on the wing and left him on the bench.

These moves can hurt the arrogant. And some will not take it. Even Aguero used to find the benched for a strikerless 11 thing disrespectful. And he and Pep butted heads on it.

Same with Gabby. The whole no strikerless team against Chelsea a few days back also strikes any striker as an insult. We lost that game... How must Gabby feel? Same with his move at Pool to take the Pen away from the Striker or bench Mahrez on 2 goals.

Pep does a lot of these kinda incosiderate stuff that can wrangle some players. The very arrogant ones pick up on it early and bulk. I believe Sane is in that group.

There are 3 types of players who play for Pep... Those who love him to death and will die for him, those he favors and those who can't stand his inconsideration. Sane unfortunately falls into the 3rd category. You can see it in his demeanor... He is in the Zlatan, Eto'o, Yaya group. These players have a deep level of Pride about themselves and don't take kindly to dismissive geniuses. Sane is clearly on that side of the fence.

Let’s keep it simple. Sane had a breakout season in 17/18 and played plenty. He then got offered a new deal and basically knocked it back. You seem to think that this is because Leroy felt undervalued. IMO you’re very wrong. The people in his ear were being told that he needed to go home to Germany and a new contract renewal would make that harder because of what his valuation would’ve been.

Everything else is noise and conjecture. The facts are before Mahrez signed before the 18/19 season began the contract was on the table. His refusal couldn’t have been about how much Pep loved or trusted him. It was about something else.

Time will tell. He’s already 4 months recovered from an ACL but has played zero competitive football. At the earliest it’ll be October if he gets his move in the next window. That will be 9 months recovered without real football. That’s already a huge uphill battle. Now factor another potential season on the sidelines and maybe you’re right. Bayern don’t pay up as he hopes.

I really can’t shake the feeling he is too dumb to see the ramifications.

Even if he is as dumb as you think surely his agent will have pointed out the potential pitfalls.

We have been played. Sane has almost certainly been carrying out the German rags instructions so they can pick him up on the cheap. If he were genuine he would have told the club he wanted to return to Germany long ago giving City the opportunity to get a decent fee.

He is doing a Milner and can fuck the fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

There's nothing dumb about it. He doesn't want to be here, so isn't signing a new contract. At some stage within the next 12 months he gets exactly what he wants which is seemingly a move to Bayern. I don't think he'll give a fuck if he misses 1-2 years football and why should he.

The very worst that could happen is a reoccurrence of the injury but the likelihood of that is next to nothing, especially if he's not playing.

If you think sitting out two years football AFTER an ACL is nothing I literally can’t help you. Sorry.

If you say so. But from the 2018-2019 season I could see he wasn't favored. And rightly so. But he is free to see it too and decide this wasn't for him.

Two years without football may affect his performances short term, it won't affect a move to Bayern. He still gets exactly what he wants.
