Two years without football may affect his performances short term, it won't affect a move to Bayern. He still gets exactly what he wants.

Yes. He’s a moron who is sacrificing years of a short career for a move home. He maybe “getting what he wants” but the cost to him will be bigger than he or clearly you realise.

No it won't, you're basing your judgements on him prioritising his career over everything else. It's a job to some, nothing more, nothing less. Not everyone in the world has the same passion for the game me, you and most other posters have, for some it's a way to earn money and have a nice life for their family.

Anyone who prioritises their career (short or long) above family, friends and life in general is foolhardy and dumb in my opinion.

I'm struggling to see your point there? If it is just a job to Leroy then why not sign the contract tripling his wages 2 years ago (yes, 2 whole years).

Would you consider Messi or Ronaldo to be foolhardy and dumb? You don't get to be the best players in the world without prioritising your career, not even the best talent gets there without total commitment.

If you say so. But from the 2018-2019 season I could see he wasn't favored. And rightly so. But he is free to see it too and decide this wasn't for him.
Why rightly so? He played a critical part in the 2017/18 title and some key games in 2018/19 (most notably the home win vs scousers).

Based on the posts here it seems unlikely, but I wouldn't complain if he saw out his contract and actually played for us.

Ffs, he doesn't want to be here. A life back in Germany with his family and friends is clearly his priority, not his job. He can earn good money and kick a ball about anywhere in the world.

You're basing that on the assumption Messi and Ronaldo's families were unhappy, when in fact they may have been perfectly happy. Not everyone wants to be the best player in the world, I couldn't give a fuck about being the best at what I do, I don't know many, if any, who do.

i do wonder with our very desperate need to a centre half at least whether you might be right - if Sane leaves then we would probably have to replace him in some form - which is an added cost. He stays we cn then focus our money on a centre half - we would have to pay more to replace SAne than we will get for him as well so even if we sold him we would be out of pocket by replacing him.

So why didn't he tell the club 2 years ago he wanted to go back to Germany ?

He has fucked us around and deserves zero respect.

You're asking questions we're not privy to, it could have been a plethora of reasons. The club clearly knew about Sane's desire to move back to Germany last summer if the ITK's are to be believed on here and we were happy to sell him before the injury. Before that who knows, maybe he did tell the club but it was kept quiet because we were still confident in persuading him to stay, maybe his desires 2 years ago weren't as strong as they are now. People's mind change constantly, just look in the transfer forum, every day the same half dozen posters tell us of the next 55 players we have to sign who are completely different to the ones they posted two days earlier. That's life, everyone's got a right to change their minds and opinions.
