Oh jeez here we go again from the pedantic senior backbencher of multiple posts esq.

Pep has a record of selling players who don’t want to be at his club or who don’t comply to the team / club ethic.

Pep ultimately will not allow distractions in his locker room or club.

Leroy has got potential but if he wants to leave he’ll be sold.

As for your pedantic question ...NO...and I’d prefer him to settle down and stay.

Now.....Is that to your satisfuckinfaction !
Your form since joining Sunday is something to behold.

It’ll be no time before we’re looking to sign you on to a contract extension.

And to be fair I don't think the club has been shy to offer pay rises. They first offered Leroy a new deal last summer, when he was only 2 years into a 5 year deal.
It’s not just “the offer,” but the size and structure of it.

City has a multi-tier structure, and a few of the younger lads appear to want to be on Sergio/KDB money already. I think Pep & Co. might feel like Leroy hasn’t earned that yet, or want to ramp him upto that level over a new 5 yr deal.

Conversely, of course, maybe he wants to leave and is simply stalling until the club he wants plunks down some cash. His problem is going to be that he now plays in England, so he is in the €60-100M Club, and few European teams throw that kind of money around because they don’t have the global TV audience that pays for it!

There are only a handful of teams he could want to leave us for, and they have the cash, but they also have far greater need than a “luxury” young talent like his.

His best bet is a new 5 yr deal at City, making second tier City wages, and buckle down to focusing on nurturing his obvious talent. He has plenty of time left in his career (and life) to be elsewhere, but nowhere will give him the education that Pep and City can give him....which might be the ACTUAL problem, as Pep’s contract ends when Leroy’s does!!

Leroy is a talent but it takes talent, mental strength and hard work to blossom into world class. We can all see the potential and I guess most of us would like him to stay but he has to want that too, and he has to work for it, showing his employer (Pep) that he is willing to do all that is asked to secure his future. I do not know what goes on behind closed doors and I certainly do not know what is happening with his contract. What I see on the pitch though is a regression from last year. That may be temporary but his performances are currently more sporadic than they were; he loses the ball more; he is less willing to run the full-back, often coming back inside and slowing down play and he also seems to annoy Pep more than most, suggesting that he is not following instruction in the way that Pep wants. It is not clear cut but this would be an unusual step for us: we do not generally lose players that we wish to keep at the club.

for 1,5 years! Doesn't give me optimism agreement will be reached.

His reps demands must be obscene
So, he could have had a handsome pay rise 18 months ago, but his advisors are saying hold out for more?

But, how much cash has he failed to earn in those 18 months because of that short sightedness?

Seems like he actually wants to go back to Germany! Which is a real shame.

Bloody hell - on here less than a week and less than 30 posts and takes on the fantsasy! And age 67. Brilliant.

Welcome on board.

i wonder what leroy realistically wants to be paid? @tolmie's hairdoo says leroy is on about £65,000 a week, i would what jump he actually wants? in the current market is he worth £200,000 a week?

I hate Bayern, if Leroy is willing to leave and there is no way to keep him then just offer him to Dortmund.

Leroy for Sancho, player for player without paying anything extra.

You cannot offer a player to a club if they are unwilling to go, I suspect Dortmund pay a lot lower wages than Bayern.
If he is wanting away and at the moment it appears a fairly big if he will want out to a bigger club than Dortmund I would expect .

If he doesn’t want to stay with us, be coached under Pep and improve his overall game whilst winning trophies, then let him go for a decent price. You can take a horse to water but can’t make it drink.
If he CANT see the opportunities that are laid out for him here, then maybe he’s better off somewhere else. It’s all about if he wants to train hard, play the team game and win, or just amble through games.
I fear it’s the latter, and I seriously hope I’m wrong.

OMG the temerity of it......another view.....a different opinion....someone challenging the mighty Fantasy.

And then out come the cyber bully’s. How entirely predictable. What next Ric crying foul ?

Don’t question my credentials young man,I’ve been watching City, home, away & abroad since 1958......and I’m of a greater vintage than your mate the untouchable, mighty Fantasy.

You forgot to mention your friends in high places.....

Tbh Yes he s worth 200k a week.... His potențial îs still huge as long as he keeps his head down and work hard to prove and show why he îs regarded as one of the best.. Replacing him May cost us more than giving him 200k

So for arguments sake, we pay him the said £2k/week, but it wasn't about money at all and he simply carries on the way he is now - then what?

Not made first 11 today . Think he will be on his way unless something drastic happens in the summer . Just hope we don’t get lo-balled for a truly world class potential player. Wish he would have started today .
