It does work both ways and the way the Chelsea squad downed tools on him was disgraceful and purely about player power. They all know now that the manager is dispensable as financially a club can’t risk the losses that come from offloading disgruntled primadonna players on the cheap. Same at Utd, he was their most successful manager since Ferguson yet Pogba and his idiot followers didn’t like being told to stop posting pics of their latest haircut so the manager has to go.
Players become disgruntled and down tools for what reason? It doesn't just happen.

If players felt appreciated, trusted and respected they wouldn't become disgruntled and down tools in the first place. Short term success which is all Mourinho has ever achieved at any club is irrelevant, as we were specifically talking about long term success.

Think he’s now getting to an age where we stop talking potential and prospect. These next two or 3 seasons should be his peak years.
Exactly. He was great in his second season with us, but the year after that he stopped progressing, and lost his place in our squad. And this season he was injured all the time. So the trend is in my humble opinion not pointing in the right direction. When you compare him with the worlds top 5 he is simply not consistent enough for me. And if we want to talk about potential I think Jadon Sancho is in another league. Just look at what he did in the Bundesliga the last 2 seasons. And how old is he? 18? That's potential for me.

until our owners grow a very big pair, we will keep been put down, grow a pair and take them ****s to UEFA saying that they are after our player while he is under contract and putting stuff in papers about him

Hahahahah, don't be silly we don't do things like that, we're soft as fuck

Yes , people like Khaldoun, Sheik Mansour, Feran Soriano,Txiki, Pepv and the rest of the board And management got to where they are in football by being soft pushovers. Should ask bluemoon posters to run our business and club hard as nails in here, we’d teach ‘em.

Strange, though, that he had the same effect on both teams? Yeah - it must be the players not him. (Not to mention the Chelsea doc)

He would have to get into the City top five before the worlds.

I'm not saying we do it, but if we really wanted to keep him we could blow Bayern out of the water with a massive contract.
We could offer him a big fee upfront and 500k per week (Igloo is getting 400k per week in china). Let's see how dedicated he is to playing at Bayern then.
Other clubs have done it when they really wanted to keep a player. In fact it is how the rags have kept most of their team in the last decade.
It does have consequences for the whole wage structure of a club, so it is not the best thing to do.

He is/will be a special player. And sometimes you have to go above and beyond. But for me, i'd say thanks and goodbye.
It's not a road our club should go down, and i don't think they will.

We had to do it when we were desperate to establish ourselves quickly before FFP kicked in, the rags are having to do it now playing catch up and it just causes a whole heap of shit. No player is worth breaking the wage structure for ever, not even De Bruyne, so Sane as good as he is doesn't deserve that opportunity.

The German Rags are doing what they always do , they grind clubs down until they are eventually glad to see the back of a player and accept any fee offered , they might get away with that in the Bundesliga but not sure Sheik Mansour is desperate for their derisory £30m , would rather see him play out his contract and then sign for a club who can make Rummenigge's contract offer look like small change , Real ,Barca and Juve can all blow the German Rags away

And by doing that, what message does it send to the rest of the squad?

We have offered him a fair contract. If he wants to say great, if not move on. One thing Peps mgmt career tells you is the team is always more important than the individual.

What’s short term or long term anyway. Where is this arbitrary line at which short term becomes long term. In this day and age if you stay at a club 3 yrs that could be considered long term. Pep was at Barca 4 years and Bayern 3 years - is he a short term success too ?

Try telling inter Milan or Porto or Chelsea fans or City fans under Mancini and Manuel that short term success is irrelevant. Success is success. The vast majority of football success is short term. There are very few dynasties anymore and where they do occur it’s usually because the league is fucked up by CL money and historic dominance.

He was a success though.

And according to some the same thing happened to Mancini. Assuming that was true I took Mancini’s side, who cares if he’s brusque with the tea lady - get a new tea lady, who cares if some players feel unloved - the manager drives the group to success.

Do you find it hard to cope when people have a different opinion to you, makes things a bit confusing doesn’t it. Never mind.

not at all, just people who pitch or peddle the drivel you have been spouting at times has a whift of somone who shouldn’t frequent this forum young man.

Take the hint.

toodle pip.
