The notion that Bayern can bully us is nonsense, imo. If they’d come calling for Sterling, De Bruyne, Bernardo, or Laporte then we’d have told them to fuck off. The fact that they’re going all out for Sane suggests they’ve had encouragement, from either club or player (or both) to do so.

Or it’s a German thing...

I actually think this comes from Pep giving his consent to sell.

Having said that, my rule of thumb is that champions don't weaken their squad. For that reason, and the obnoxious, arrogant behaviour of the German rags, I wouldn't let him go.

My concern isn't about Leroy leaving anymore. It is more that we are weakening the squad with the loss of our captain and Leroy in the same summer with no adequate replacement. Does anyone know what the transfer buyback options for Sancho's return are?

Not sure there will be a buy back as if I remember correctly he went when his contract ran out. We got a development fee rather than a transfer fee, I could be misremembering though?

Not sure that's true Ric.

It might simply be that they happen to need a player who conveniently for them - for whatever reason - is not one if Pep's cherished players. He doesn't need to have told them that - it's been obvious for the whole of last season at least, by the lack of starts Sane has been given, the number of times he's not been brought on when changes were needed and the number of times he's been brought off first.

It's clear Pep is not that fussed about him, and combining that with only 2 years left on his contract and not yet renewing it and he's an obvious target

Another thing worth mentioning is that Pep doesn't actually run City. He might be extremely well thought of - of course he is. And his opinions will carry a lot of weight

But at the end of the day, Khaldoon is the boss. I am not sure he will be comfortable selling to those cnuts, even if Pep has a good relationship with them, we, City, certainly do not.

And bending over and taking it from them, selling Save on the cheap, to them of all clubs, is absolutely inconceivable to me.

And I cannot see any way Bayern are going to pay what we as a club want.

I think they've been bargaining on getting him cheap with their constant and concerted tapping up, like they always do with Wolfsburg, Schalke, Dortmund etc. We are not desperate for cash like those clubs are and I think Bayern are going to be sadly disappointed.

Agreed, it sends totally the wrong message and one I don’t think we’ll entertain... it’s still not come to light who was feeding der speigel!

And let's just remind ourselves. Not 3 months ago, that Cnut Rummenigge was publicly calling for us to be banned from the CL.

And we are supposed to do a deal with them???!?!!! The arrogance of that club is really astonishing.

How can we *possibly* sell to them at any price, let alone at less than our valuation of our player?

I just cannot see any way this deal.happens.

Because it makes a lot of sense to us to sell a cover for our left winger for 140m. Bayern will be laughed at if they pay that. It's us who are pulling their pants down.
