Dean Ashton retires and is wanting to sue SWP and Chelsea

Shame - good player and all but where does it say he's blaming SWP, and wants to sue?

The news articles i've come across related to this subject via reputable sources such as BBC make no reference to this. The daily telegraph just want more readers.....

Good luck to Dean Ashton.

and to the poster claiming SWP has never made a malicious tackle - don't be so naive

Im glad teach him for scoring against us in the quaters couple of years back i can still remember how mental the hammers fans where going.

Gutted for him really was a good player.

Even though its never nice to see a player forced to end their career prematurely, I can think of many worse a hand to be dealt than having to retire as a millionaire at 26yrs old !

Very very nearly signed for us under Keegan but the board refused, I believe.

SWP has never made a malicious tackle in his whole career.

I thought Keegan decided not to Dave. I only say that because after the game at Norwich which we won and Ashton was brilliant Keegan was interviewed and was singing his praises and basically admitting that he looked at him but thought he lacked pace. It always stuck in my memory because when he said that I started throwing cans of Stella at the telly shouting, "BUT YOU SIGNED 'SPEED MERCHANT' ANTOINE SIBIERSKI YOU DAFT C*NT!!!!" Keegan left the club shortly after.

more likely been advsied that rather than struggle for another year to get fit, might as well quit and claim fortunes in insurances and sue swp and england and be a lot better off.

If Haaland got f*ck all from Keanes challenge, which he later pretty much admitted as intentional in his book, then I doubt Ashton would get owt either...
Haaland did not retire from the keane tackle, it was a completely different injury

Actually Rag ;-) the two cases are near identical, both got injured in a tackle (though I prefer to call Keanes an assualt) both were out for a long time, both attempted comebacks, both comebacks failed due to problems stemming from the original injury.

Did Haaland not play the next 2 games for city after the tackle and retired due to an injury on the other leg a year later?
