In what world is anyone going to pay 50m for Kalvin Phillips?

Barely played the last year, a year older, completely lost his place in the England team, weight & fitness issues according to Pep. You pay 50m for Phillips and its dead money, players as an asset amortize with both their contract length and age, but more so age. Kalvin being 28 next season, on a 4 year deal, by the time he is 3 years into his deal there is no club willing subsidize a good portion of the 50m paid three years earlier. No way would West Ham break their transfer record for Kalvin.
Can’t disagree more. Phillips may have failed here so far but £50m for a 27 year old current full England international is good value nowadays.

It’s a big move for Rice and he will want to win trophies. City, United and Liverpool represent the best chance of that. Would be a bad move Arsenal. This season was the best chance to win it. I think you will be back out of top 4 next season.
If Rice joins he will form a basis of midfield with Odegaard.

Players like Rice can help move the train, as I said before, if players only ever moved to the clubs that are presently winning, how did you ever pass Man United?

Just spent a season learning off the best around there would be a massive queue for Phillips at £50m and top half teams in the prem. Villa Newcastle spurs maybe even the dippers would get involved. Saying that a fully expect him to stay st city and have a big impact next season. As for rice don't think he's the type of player we would be looking at for the fee demanded.

How many top half teams outside the traditional big 6 + Newcastle would be looking at Phillips at a top tier signing? I would say their would be zero interest, especially at 50m.

As for Villa? Their record signing is around 35m pounds, doubt they would smash it for a 28 year old Phillips.

I would be stunned if anyone paid 50m for Phillips. I know transfer fees in football are very progressive, bu 50m is still a lot to sign on a single player, and for players that could be bought for 50m, its hard to believe Phillips would be one of the better ones

West Ham want Cole Palmer as well. If we cant get Bellingham i`d personally love to fuck you guys up again by taking Rice.

You can have Rice. You sit there looking at rice while we eat like kings sat on the top table with steak same as this season and last.

Just need a cut out of the London skyline to trick him into thinking he is in London when he is touring your training ground.

Could work - Mary Poppins was filmed in California after all

If Rice would rather stay in London than win things and work with the best manager around then he’s not for us. We need ambitious footballers who are eager to learn. Not sure if we’re in for him but if we are he’d be a fool to choose Arsenal. I suspect you know this.

I see Philips around 35m at best tbh based on his first season, hopefully he can work and injury free for City next season.
