He is several levels above Kalvin for sure.

No doubt about that but he is several levels below our regular midfield players. I’d hope we steer well clear as think the price will be quite high and no guarantee Pep would even be able to coach him to the level we require.

I wouldn’t be holding up connections to Walmart as a badge of honour, ethically bankrupt and an absolutely abysmal employer - Sir Henry Norris would be very proud I guess.
Are you suggesting they're Walmart owned? Why aren't Arsenal fans boycotting the club due to the treatment of staff by Walmart and the shocking way they've increased their prices of own brand biscuits?

Or what about the 18 people America executed last year, never mind the treatment of LGBTQ people in Florida.

Or does that only apply if your owners are rich and a bit off-white?

Its not all our budget. Stan Kroenke owns us but Josh Kroenke his son has taken over as the de-facto owner. Stan is married to Anne Walton, with Anne being Josh's mother. Anne Walton is member of the Walton family who own 51% of Walmart stock which is currently worth over 240 billion USD. We are de-facto owned by the richest family in the world (private enterprise). Type 'richest family in the world' into google and you get the Waltons looking back at you

Ever since the Kroenke's completed a full take over we have spent solid sums. No one initially noticed because we spent 72m on Pepe, gave Amumayang 350k a week and Ozil 300k a week. But in recent years we have been getting it right with our spending, and also paying unwanted players to leave, while fending off real interest in Saliba, Saka and Martinelli are giving each a 200,300,200k a week wage respectively - you watch, Odegaard will sign next. Now were offering 100m for Rice.

Most people are stuck in 2012 with regards to our ownership. They still think being owned by the Kroenke's is a bad thing, when in actual fact they were bad owners when they owned only a portion of the club. However as mentioned, ever since the full takeover we have been ramping up the spending.

Disgusting!

You lot ought to be banned from the Champions League for such flagrant, egregious Financial Doping!

And you need all your titles stripping away from you too……….

………actually - hang on a minute - that’s not going to work, is it!

Big Sam says it's a done deal to us, time will tell.

My 2p worth is i think Rice would be a cracking addition to the team and Pep as he does with so many others would raise him up a few levels at least.

I really rate Rice and think he's a much better all rounder than Phillips. I wonder if he would provide cover for both Rodri and Stones, in the midfield positions? That should give him a good amount of game time. There's talk Walker may leave, which presumably means Stones, Akanji (and Lewis) will be our right side defensive options, so Stones may play in a variety of positions again.

Whether Rice would want to come, knowing he wouldn't be a guaranteed starter, is another question. But had Phillips been trusted Rodri surely wouldn't have played quite as much as he did last season, so it's reasonable that Rice should expect to play a bigger role.
