72m on Pepe was Maguire/Sancho levels of Financial Foul Play
I do agree and it’s one they got badly wrong… I’d also argue that it was much worse than Maguire/Sancho, because United could still recoup most of their outlay for those 2. However, I find it a bit tiresome with Pepe, that it’s constantly used as a stick! He hasn’t played for them for a year and they’ve got many signings right since then. Pepe will go down as one of the worst signings ever, but we have our own (Mendy for one) .

It’s cos he cost so much, like Grealish failing for us

So the only reason he wants to settle for second best is because his needy missus will miss her mummy… lol.. good luck you’re getting a proper winner there
Rice grew up in London his whole life, likewise his missus, they have a newborn and their entire family structure is in London. This is a huge factor in the Rice saga, probably the most important element in choosing his next club. So many pundits look at the situation through the prism of Rice as a footballer only, rather than an actual person. Doesn't surprise me at all he would stay at West Ham before considering a move to Man City. Rice may as well be the Old Bailey, guy isn't leaving the capital.

I agree, £72m was a joke and it is often ridiculed… I’m just saying it’s slightly tiresome. Even arsenal fans tell you it was a bad one, it happens and we aren’t immune to it ourselves.

Its not all our budget. Stan Kroenke owns us but Josh Kroenke his son has taken over as the de-facto owner. Stan is married to Anne Walton, with Anne being Josh's mother. Anne Walton is member of the Walton family who own 51% of Walmart stock which is currently worth over 240 billion USD. We are de-facto owned by the richest family in the world (private enterprise). Type 'richest family in the world' into google and you get the Waltons looking back at you

Ever since the Kroenke's completed a full take over we have spent solid sums. No one initially noticed because we spent 72m on Pepe, gave Amumayang 350k a week and Ozil 300k a week. But in recent years we have been getting it right with our spending, and also paying unwanted players to leave, while fending off real interest in Saliba, Saka and Martinelli are giving each a 200,300,200k a week wage respectively - you watch, Odegaard will sign next. Now were offering 100m for Rice.

Most people are stuck in 2012 with regards to our ownership. They still think being owned by the Kroenke's is a bad thing, when in actual fact they were bad owners when they owned only a portion of the club. However as mentioned, ever since the full takeover we have been ramping up the spending.

I did actually just Google it for my own interest… it is indeed the richest non-royal family. However, there’s a lot of actual Walton’s on that family tree?

You see tenuous family link and assume all of their wealth is to be ploughed into Arsenal? I reckon a few Walton family members may take umbrage with that.

Good luck thou, I can tell you’re excited and I hate to dampen it. For info, our owner is the best owner a football club has ever had and he is Royal - so the caveat you used to brag, was to exclude our owner! He’s still our owner!
