Philips would be mad to stay here if he values playing time, and ultimately his career.

Rodri,Rice,Kovacic, and probably Stones and Lewis all ahead of him.
It would be a great move for him as well. Still playing European football, much more likely to be starting week in week out, big stadium with good fans and a big chance to really kick start his career again. Stay at City and if we do sign Rice, he's gonna be watching from the stands all year again.

tolmie said yesterday morning the bid had gone in mate
That ex West Ham employee who is about as reliable as you can get when it comes to West Ham said no bid as of yet but West Ham expecting one. Also @mattyb said last night we aren’t close to this signing.

I suspect West Ham are using us to drive the price up. Something just doesn’t feel right with this transfer.

Declan seems like a good lad and I’d much rather be doing business with teams like West Ham.

I do worry about the English premium and how that weighs heavily on players. It took a long time for Jack to get up to speed, Kalvin never has, and I fear it could be a similar situation here.

The problem is that if you don’t hit the ground running in the middle of the park for us then you end up with the “Kalvin Phillips experience”. He hasn’t had the luxury of time to adjust that Grealish has out wide (yet).

We’re going to end up with Rodri, Phillips, Stones, Kovacic and Rice who are all capable of playing that deep midfield, defensive screen role.

If he comes though, I trust in Pep and I hope he starts well.

A loan would benefit Cole though mate and he would likely play a lot more there?
Think he's missed the boat a tad, should have been coming back off a loan now having gained the experience he was/is cryingvout for and staked a claim.
As it stands,he isn't even starting for the u21's.
