Get the fanny wipes out
Rice is a brilliant player but £100 million is a crazy fee.
With the limited minutes Phillips had last season, he’s virtually a new signing for us and when on form he’s a very good player.
There’s a much better deal to be done for James Maddison. Half the price of Rice and he actually adds creativity to the middle of the park which is what we need in KDBs absence.
I thought it was well known FDJ is on 400k+ a week and wont take a wage cut.
It's rumoured we looked at it and said nahh, no thanks.
On a side-note, what’s with all these bids going in during the dead of night?
Why are we assuming City will pull out now? Am I missing something?
Not worth it. If Arsenal sign him for that price it will be heralded in the media and all we’ll hear about is how they’ve got one over on city. How he’s chosen history over money blah blah blah. If we sign him for that price it will be disgusting. Ruining football farmers league blah blah blah.
Imagine we bid £115,000,001.00. Just to absolute piss boil the piss.
People need to forget price.
It's marginal gains for a team as great as City's.
There are very few players who might be available or who might want to join us, who can improve us.
Rice improves us and keeps us ahead of the chasing pack.
It also covers the eventuality when Rodri finishes or even wants to leave.
Plus, if the rumours are to be believed, his missus wasn't too impressed with the local restaurants.City offered Gundo what he wanted.
Gundo just fancied a change and different lifestyle.
Simple as that.
Because it is a sensible assumption.
The club walked away from pursuing Harry Kane over a similar amount when our greatest striker needed replaced, and went into the season without anyone there. Waited a year for a defender when Vince left, waited a year for Rodri rather than paying 5-10m more for Jorginho.
Maybe the club do a fuck-it bid. Unlike the examples above, we have 3 players in that position already, and no need to pay silly money.

It’s a lot of money for someone who arguably wouldn’t even be in our best starting XI.People need to forget price.
