Declan Rice

Think Phillips has clearly stated he will stay and try to get into the team. It is an admirable stance even though it will be difficult I reckon.

I remember Zini getting an offer from Wolves and city wanting to sell but he stayed and was a key player for us.
If phillips thinks he can play his way into the team he may have already been given some encouragement by Pep. However I remember reading earlier this week that he plans to talk to Pep when he gets back from holiday. I wonder if he’ll get encouragement or the Joe Hart speech.

Ask yourself these questions. Would City be talking to Sullivan/Rice if they hadn't been given assurances over Rice's decision (maybe they haven't had it if there has been no bid?). Also would Rice be still considering City if he hadn't been given assurances over playing time?
Why wouldn’t they- they probably started conversations with both at same time. It’s worth understanding the situation on both sides- if he prefers arsenal that doesn’t mean he may not still end up at us as arsenal may not meet their demands. Likewise we would need to know what west hams demands are otherwise there is no point at all in pursuing it.

If Rice comes to City he’ll get more than enough game time, he is good enough. Almost all of our players get game time managed (and as an example look how Haaland has had his minutes managed, without rancour on his part, and how injury feee he was last season (which was a worry at the start of the season). The only player who probably should have had less minutes is Rodders, and that is where Rice comes in

Foden will likely never reach Iniesta's level, because the Spaniard is the best midfielder I've ever seen. But Phil has the ability to be the best English midfielder. No doubt.

Alves is probably the greatest right back ever. Nothing more to add.

The Busquets one is difficult. As a pure DM, he's the best ever. But Rodders has more to his game; he progresses the ball forward more and has a rocket I never saw in Busquets.

Pep's Barca is the greatest club team ever. But Pep's current iteration of City aren't far behind, and who knows how better we'll get after slight evolution.

I agree, it's not trashing our players. They have skill sets that are uniquely theirs and will leave legacies that are uniquely theirs.
I think this season has been the confirmation for me that id take rodri over busquets. He just has more to his game like you say. Physicality, an eye for goal, good in tight spaces. Busquets is clearly ridiculous though but for me rodri is something else

Reading comments here,is why i love the transfer windows. After watching an interview with collins & antonio of west ham, they said hes young, ambitious, but if you want to win things? And city and pep come calling? Then you go there, they make a very good point. I trust in the manager and the club ,who will do what they think is right, breaking all kinds of records, treble winners, love saying that. But lets just imagine for a moment, we dont have owners, dont have pep, and we cant sign anyone we want, thats EXACTLY whats happening at the swamp, fans tearing their hair out begging for Qatari oil money, and when you stop laughing, and im nowhere near in finishing laughing, remember our journey, remember how they and others laughed, they are'nt anymore.a bit of perspective there. As for rice? If he signs, great,we will all back him,if not? None of what ive written changes, so lets enjoy it.

I just hope he doesn’t come back overweight again.
