Declan Rice

This! This is what i don't get when i see people posturing about this lad. Our club is, without the mask of arrogance a guarantee of success. We might not win the treble every season, but we are competing till May in every competition. We have won major honours every single year for the last 6 years.

If you as a professional, cannot bring yourself to face the truth in this manner, to challenge yourself in this aspect, to fight along the best in the world. Then you are not good enough to start with.
They didn’t believe that the club would be in for him. The expectation was Arsenal and United. He fell for Arteta and his twerking and now he’s in a difficult position, probably regretting being turned on by the twerk.

My reading of the tea leaves.

City and West Ham want to slow this down. Arsenal want to rush it through. City and West Ham are winning.

Rice was set on Arsenal, but that's because there was no real secondary or serious interest.

He was on international break and now holiday, and will be happy as long as he gets a move. He hasn't listened to Pep's or City's offer yet, which could very well move the needle. He would be mad not to take the call, at the very least.

Then he's got a decision to make.

I think Rice already knows what we can offer him and is weighing pros and cons. He may have slight preferences for Arsenal (due to talking to Arteta for months now and being promised a bigger role in their set-up) but he is likely open to both options.

W Ham want to see how high would both clubs go: 90m + 10m?, 95m+ 10m?, and the structure of the offers. It's key for Arsenal whether Rice wants only them. If he doesn't, they'll lose, for they can't offer 100m AND an attractive structure of the payments.

There are multiple positions to look at this. Pep's mantra has always been midfielders, in fact we are a team with two strikers, and the rest of 95% of the club being CB's and CM's.

The development rate of some of our players, in midfield, should alone change your perspective.

Like i said, some are born winners, driven, cold amd calculated over winning. Some are sentimentalist. The latter tend to be happier, but win less.

New poster here but wanted to add my take on the rice situation.

Everyone’s assuming that this West Ham ITK’s word is gospel. For all we know he could have been briefed by West Ham to trot out this narrative that rice only wants arsenal. Coincidentally, talksport sources and also claret and hugh(West Ham news site) All came out with exactly the same line. Makes me think this is a briefing to get city to hurry up with their bid as we’re taking our time.

Fabrizio said we checked with the player’s camp and he’s open to a move and him and ornstein said that we’re preparing a bid. As of 1AM yesterday Fabrizio said that we’re still planning to submit the bid. We wouldn’t do that unless we are sure the player is open to the move. Unless some crazy development happened between then and now and rice basically decided it’s arsenal or bust lol.

Also another theory I might have is we told West Ham that if they can reject this 3rd bid from arsenal, we would then present our own bid to then that they simply cannot refuse and arsenal probably won’t match/surpass. In the meanwhile we’re speaking to rice trying to sell our vision to him.

So relax I have full faith Rice will be a city player.

Fact City have yet to bid confirms the theory Arsenal are Rice's first choice. I think City are monitoring and if for whatever reason Arsenal cant do the deal, City will prevent themselves as an alternative. Or your interest was passive at best, and West Ham blew it up to hurry Arsenal into action.

I actually think Arsenal and West Ham are talking behind the scenes now that a 'bidding war' is out of the question. It was in West Hams interest to receive and review bids, and not reveal their hand as to encourage a 'bidding war'. However, Rice seems resolute in his desire to move to Arsenal so any notion of a 'bidding war' is dead in the water. West Ham know if they are getting 100m for Rice, they are getting it from Arsenal. So as of right now, I think both clubs are in talks about the deal to bring it to a conclusion. I dont think Arsenal will prepare a bid and sent it to West Ham to review, both clubs are negotiating terms as we speak. The next major development will not be an Arsenal bid. Rather it will be an agreement between West Ham and Arsenal.

Major coup for us if we do it. Also lays down a marker for any potential suitors in Odegaard or Saka. If we can bid 100m for Rice. We can reject 100m for Saka or Odegaard.
Fact - you know FUCK ALL about how City operate

Fact - your club are perennial bottlers, missing CL qualification one year, the title the next, from seemingly impregnable positions

Fact - nobody knows what our transfer plans are because we do out business privately and efficiently, not pathetically and via the media as some clubs (as Eric Morecambe would say, cough arsenal)

Fact - you seem extremely desperate coming into another club’s forum telling us what’s going to happen

A great deal of speculation I see. I’ve no idea where he’ll end up but obviously I hope he chooses us over you. If he does choose us, then it’s because given the potential of our young players he can see an exciting opportunity to develop and be successful for some years to come. He will be guaranteed s starting place and be seen as one of our senior players. Arteta is here for the long haul so no danger of transition and Rice gets to stay in London.

Of course, joining City has it’s obvious attractions but Pep will likely leave in 2025, some of your key players are coming to the end of their shelf life and all winning teams ultimately come to the end of their reign.

I suspect this season just ended will mark the high water point of this City team’s success.

I think as soon as Gvardiol is done this will be City's priority and we will hear more.

I'm not so sure. I don't really see the club spending 100m+ on him. Not that soon after spending some 90m on a CB. Not unless or until big money comes in for outgoing players. I'd prepare yourself for the length of the transfer window.

Honestly do think that when Gvardiol gets done

Then a massive bid for Rice will go in. We are not messing about this window. Kovacic done early, Gvardiol looks to be getting there.

Could honestly see us just put down the fee West ham want.
