If he genuinely "prefers Arsenal", what's stopping him doing interviews angling/ hinting at going up the Arse?

If he wants away, that'd be cause for the price to drop and WH accepting the bid.

It doesn't look like he's forcing anything through to me...
He prefers Arsenal because they think he does. Fact of the matter, if both clubs want him, both teams will have to bid, set up finances, pay plans, bonus schemes, work on wage structure, agent fees. The lot. This can take immense time.

If both offers are on the table, and then he says Arsenal, then that's it.

Arsenal's interest in him has been everywhere, surprised it wasn't at the coronation. If the deal isn't done yet, it means the proverbial tail is still up.

Phillips £30-40m
Cancelo £30-40m
Laporte £30-40m
Doyle £20-30m
Borges £15-20m
Breckin £10-15m

probably a load of other youngsters as well?
Half of those player, or even more, will go for FAR less than those valuations. Cancelo wont touch over 20m imo. Same goes for Doyle. If anyone still bites that is.

We have wages to pay!

Much of the additional prize money will be eaten up by players' win bonuses.
Absolutely.

Of course our 294m prize money can't go to transfers 1:1.

We're still making operating losses. Only our transfer profit of 67m last year brought us to a total 41m net profit.

I guess we want a total transfer profit again.
