It's only opinion, but I doubt it ever will be.I’ve been told that this isn’t even close yet

I think I’d let Arsenal take him.I’ve been told that this isn’t even close yet
Might even play more forward like stones with new signings incoming the line up has so many variables to it. Another challenge for our competitors plus team getting taller and stronger which is an edge to physical presence.Rice seems to be a decent number 6......surely phillips will see him come in and despite his comments a few days ago think his chances are going to be very very limited.
Maybe Pep thinks he can turn Rice into a more attacking player as this for me is where his limitation in...great defensively but not much going forward......losing Ilky and Bernardo would therefore still need addressing unless Pep thinks he can do something with Rice (and Foden moving more centrally perhaps?)
Sorry. However, don't fall down those steps now and smash through all those doors cos that would also be ironic.Good luck with that, I'm 3 floors up, and they'd have to get through several doors, but anyway thanks for the nice thoughts (oh and I'm not in London anyway).
Oh by the way "cleavers" is a wild plant that sticks to everything.
We are in for him though or not?I’ve been told that this isn’t even close yet
Not planning on going near the steps at this time of night.Sorry. However, don't fall down those steps now and smash through all those doors cos that would also be ironic.
SensibleNot planning on going near the steps at this time of night.
Interesting re Rodri. Not a big fan of his but I trust txiki and Pep and I haven’t seen him enough to have a full opinion.
Assuming if we did get him, the thinking is partner him with Rodri, and either play Rodri further forward a bit (he’s shown he can do the Gundo role a few times already) or shift Foden centrally.
The fluidity of team increasing means we can play total football in it full sense.Moving quickly it seems like.
I just want to say Stones + Rice + Gvardiol (if it happens) is a fascinating group of players to work with in that area of the pitch. The flexibility they each provide and ability to move into midfield/drop into defense.... will be interesting to see them all in the same side. Peps wet dream
John Cross always speaks very highly of City. The Arsenal lap dog is very quiet.
Nothing from John Cross.
I agree with that mate… moving to a new country and starting afresh and applying yourself the way Rodri/Dias for eg have done etc is on paper, more difficult than relocating 200 miles north for Rice. Each player is different and the difference between Arsenal/City is very different to Benfica/City. Anyway, let’s agree to disagree. If Rice ends up signing for Arsenal, I won’t see that as him having some mental weakness, but we won’t see the same on this one evidently.Fair enough. Like I said, I don’t think we have a divine right to get him just because we want him (which would be raggish) but instead think we’re a more attractive option to players.
I get it’s not a straight forward decision because of family etc. but also think the mentality we have in this squad (Dias, Rodri) wouldn’t give a shit about where they live as long as they win trophies and that’s what makes us successful.
I wouldn’t judge him if he decided to go to Arsenal but I also wouldn’t lose sleep if he did because he wouldn’t, in my opinion at least, have that same killer mentality that we’ve built. Yet anyway.
Exactly - they won’t.if Rice joins City, along with Kovacic. How on earth will teams get the ball back from us?
Totally agree.Christ. It’s not raggish, it’s confidence in the club I support being a major attraction to top level footballers. I don’t see it as us having a divine right to have any player we want - far from it - but I do undoubtedly see us as being more attractive than most other clubs. Especially in England.
I’ll say it again, if a player chooses not to come here because he doesn’t believe in his own ability or is worried about it being ‘hard work’ to play under the best coach of his generation then I’d rather we miss out.
But personally I think he doesn’t see it as that and will put a lot of stock into personal glory. As would the majority of players.
The same reason Harry Kane gets shit for staying at Spurs. You can appreciate his loyalty (or stupidity to sign a contract when he did) but at the end of the day he’ll have regrets when he looks back.
Walker had 0 trophies when he signed for us, now he’s swimming in them. He jumped ship and Kane didn’t, it’s an easy contrast to make but it’s a pretty stark one too.
English players will have seen Walker, Grealish, Phillips, Foden and Stones win the treble then met up with them a few days later at the England camp and thought ‘I’ll have a bit of that if I can’. They’d be silly not to.
They won’t mate. They won’t. And it’ll be fucking glorious.if Rice joins City, along with Kovacic. How on earth will teams get the ball back from us?
We do have a Devine right - Jesus is a City fan after all…….I agree with that mate… moving to a new country and starting afresh and applying yourself the way Rodri/Dias for eg have done etc is on paper, more difficult than relocating 200 miles north for Rice.
