Bit weird this one. We know that we wanted Bellingham but also know we never bid for him. So imo City must have had encouragement from the Rice camp. No way we bid if he’s made it clear he wants to only go to Arsenal.

ZERO doubt Rice is up for the move. Anything else and city woulve left the table long ago.

Huge that we’ve turned this ‘interest’ and ‘monitoring’ into an official bid. We don’t dick about and go for players who don’t want to join us so we’ve had assurances that his heart isn’t set on just them. This bid will be rejected but I expect this will go one of two ways. Force Arsenal to pay over the odds in a panic buy or we come in with a bid of 90m+10m in achievable add ons. He must of expressed an interest in joining to warrant us bidding that.

I think it was reported 2 of them was Champions league final and Premier league win

We don’t bid unless it’s accepted but it feels like it’s too short for West Ham still - atleast we know he’s happy to move.

I think at this stage its maybe a change of heart from Rice and he`s confirmed to City he`s interested. All speculation on my part.

Very difficult for players to go the other way in transfers if it’s full sale either way. You don’t really see that many transfers like that, probably affect Accounting

Even if they offer little bit more but not good insalments and our is over 2 years, our offer is still better.

No swaps just pay West Ham the money. Move Phillips on in a seperate deal. Still could have given Phillips a better crack in getting back into contention.

I`ve just made the same sort of comment Matt. Perhaps Peps phone call made him realise theres only one club that would/could enhance his capabilities. ;)
