The reality is at certain points of this transfer both him and Tolmie were correct. Nothing Tolmie posted has been proven to be incorrect.
We outbid Arsenal then he’s wearing sky blue next summer. We didn’t and therefore he won’t.
Yeah I don't get the need to pit the two guys against each other.

If people have information they think is credible by all means share it. If circumstances changes so be it.

Christ, we've just won an unprecedented proper treble, we've got the best owners, the best manager ever, a World Superstar upfront and yet getting players seems as difficult as ever. Is it purely money and why don't players appear willing to walk over hot coals to come here?

Think its Eni who has caught quite a few.

She's employed to say dumb stuff that gets a reaction and attention and City fans keep giving it.

Crediting her with far too much intelligence.

She is dumb, it isn't an act. She believes what she is saying, even when it is patently obvious she makes statements without any cogent acknowledgement how fucking dumb it comes across.

City fuck Arsenal over = City led
City 'assist' Arteta = Arteta led

You've suggested both.
Mate, you missed the:

"None of us outside of City's transfer board will truly know what our true intentions were, but the end result was Arse panicked & coughed up £35m more than their initial bid, & with the mission complete, we stepped away & got on with our intended business, leaving Arse massively overpaying."

There's so many theories as to how & why we ended our interest, we'd be here until tomorrow poring over them.

We made a bid to force Arse to pay more to ensure Arteta got his player?

Txiki put in a bid to panic Arse into overpaying, thus taking a chunk out of their transfer budget?

We genuinely reasoned £90m was our limit?

It all adds up to the same outcome. Arse overpaid for Rice & their entitled fans feel like they've been dry bummed by the Hammers, & the whole bidding process has got City's fingerprints all over it! Lol :-)

You know, I hope pep feels rejuvenated and up for it. The prospect of perpetually one-upping his former apprentice now rival no matter what players they buy should be enticing.

Admittedly, I was disappointed to not have gotten rice as I personally thought he would have bought something different to the team.

But that is what makes us special, we always find a way and come through. We have top drawer people on and off the pitch. Rivals are terrified of the fact that although we are rich as a club and have money, we are also extremely wise and calculated in our decisions and no doubt look at where it’s got us. Treble, three peat, 100 point season, fourmidables.

We’re evolving and growing as a club at a terrifying rate and rivals are scratching their heads dumbfounded at what to do.

We’ve seen off United back in the early 2010’s, Liverpool for the past 5 years and now it’s Arsenal’s turn to face us and no doubt we will see the off too no matter what cause we’ve got pep guardiolaaa.

Pretty much obvious what happened as it is something we have done many times before. We have our own idea of what a player is worth to us and stick to that. We don't dragged into auctions and pay more than we value a player at. When Arsenal's bid went beyond what we felt represented reasonable value, we withdrew.

Pretty standard procedure for us and nothing to do with Aluko's nonsense.
The one caveat to that is why bid £90m, a figure which Arse had rejected days before?

It's as if we wanted to panic Arse into massively upping their bid, & then telling all involved "It's a bit rich for our blood blud, so we're out!"

Arse fans ain't happy! Can't you tell? A few days ago the place was crawling with em, but they've disappeared up their own arses since we "ended our interest" lickety split! Lol :-)

And you know this for sure how mate? :-)
In what world would Pep try to help Arsenal close a deal for a top midfielder? I can totally see them trying to force Arsenal into a mistake (pay more than he’s worth), although I believe we genuinely wanted him for 90, but I don’t think Pep tries to help the closest competition! What about his relentless drive to dominate would make anyone believe he intentionally tried to help Arsenal get Rice?

I'll agree with you totally on the end result. I'm just looking at who initiated it. Can't be both.
