Natural back up for Yaya/Barry/Silva - very versatile player but big and strong to boot. Just glad the fookin rags haven´t got him coz that would have been the league down the pan

Wouldn't be so sure about that, from what I've heard we've only had our bid accepted, they could easily match it and Dembele choose to go to them instead.

I personally am worried about that happening.

So are we flapping now because someone else has signed a player our title winning manager has shown no inclination of wanting?

It's not exactly a case of flapping, more that a player that could add value to our squad at a no-brainer of a price is again slipping through the net.

When clubs are trying to take us to the cleaners on price, we pass up on a player who is prem proven and we know the fee required to get him.

This guy is quite capable of competing for a starting spot in our first choice 11 yet we are pissing about over a deal for Sinclair who will undoubtedly be a bench player.

Just doesn't make sense.
I concur.

It's not like we haven't got plenty of options in that position, maybe Mancini just doesn't think he'd be a significant improvement.

Now I'm beginning to become upset, for real. What the hell are we up to??? Are we perhaps prevented from making any further signings? Are we in a dire financial state?

No. Obviously. Although things seem a little strange i have a feeling everything will become much clearer by the end of the week. You don't get to be premier league champions without knowing what you're doing

Something is brewing.............................

I think so too. It's something of a joke on here but in all seriousness I do actually think it's "too quiet"

DaveTheYid although, I have only just signed up to the forum I have been a long time browser and you don't half talk some rubbish. You make out as though Spurs are a BIG club when in reality you are a mid table team as your opening results have showed.

Sounds like a panic buy. No-one talking about him in June. After a good performance against the rags - after they took the foot off the gas - and suddenly he's hot property.

I think he is a good footballer but he has to perform consistently over a longer period of time to justify the hype.

I am surprised at Spurs' targets, albeit those talked about in the press. Not one of them are an FB and centre-half.

Just hoping the rags have exhausted their transfer budget and don't hijack this, the rags with a quality midfielder would be a big worry. Some journos think United could match Spurs' offer which triggers his buy-out clause.

If Spurs sign Dembele for £15M and still have the same amount left over from the Modric sale, then that's great business. Improved their team and made a profit.
To suggest Dembele is better than Modric is slightly OTT.

Never rated Modric. Flattered to deceive, didn't hurt teams, went missing in the big games. Glad we never went in for him. Dembele makes spurs a much more dangerous attacking outfit, playing off Ade

Disagree. Modric is a fantastic player. People that make the best judgement on players are the ones that see them week in week out for a full 90 plus mins. Spurs fans reckon he's one of the best they have seen play for them.

I'd agree with this IMO Modric was massively over rated. Can't see him at Madrid for look but only time will tell if I'm wrong.

Madrid didn't even need Modric they should have signed a rb then again they did pay 30m for Contrao when they already had Marcelo.
