Demichelis wants to leave?

River are in the Club World Cup in December which is huge for any footballer and in particular South American players.

River Plate are in the title race in Argentina which finishes later this year and are also contending to retain the Copa Sudamericana which has just got underway.

River look to have sold Funes Mori to Everton so they will need to replace him.

At his age it will be very appealing to go back to the club whom he came through the ranks and win some trophies because River Plate now after they have just won the Copa Libertadores are arguably the best team in South America at the moment.

I would like us to keep him though.

Yes I'd say River Plate are the best side in South America right now though Barcelona will probably beat them easily enough in the CWC. If MD goes Denayer must stay and vice versa.

Just to back up some of the information I have read on here, this was in the Canchallena (Argentinian paper).

http://canchallena.lanacion.com.ar/...-funes-mori-para-volver-con-martin-demichelis

It basically says that Jorge Cyterzspiller (MD's agent) and Enzo Francescoli (manager of River Plate) are travelling to Liverpool and once the deal with Ramiro Funes Mori (River Plate player) is done with Everton, they will travel to City to talk to MD. Apparently he thinks he has lost his place in the squad with Otamendi signing. It started as a rumour but now there is a firm foundation behind this rumour. Looks like the deal could be done soon. This might mean that Denayer will probably not go to Marseilles (unless that deal has been sealed). I haven't been following the Denayer posts that closely today but that is the Argentinian media's perspective at the moment. Hope that helps.

If he goes fine. Thank him for what he has done. After a rocky start he finished he season well 13-14 and looked out best CB at times last season.

He came here and won a PL and capital one cup he'll be happy to have finally played in the PL and achieved what Gerrard couldn't in years ;-)

Don't see it personally. He'll be off end of season to New York City for his well deserved golden handshake.

With the arrival Of Otamendi to consider, added to the fact that River Plate are getting shot of that Mori, he's not getting any younger...
Wouldn't be suprised if he returned back to his homeland to play his football. However, don't think he should leave though as he'd be well missed due to his consistency all laat season and most of the season before
