Democrat US Presidential Nominations

Don't be silly.

Is it me dismissing poll/ opinion or you?

You're happy to tell us Biden is "smashing it" by '11pts' (oh yeah, let me give you this from Quinnipiac...)

Biden 49%
#45 41%

"Smashing it" - 3%!

Anyway, I don't dismiss the polls (which is opinion) you love so much. You dismiss YT opinion, though.

That's ironing.
Where the flying fuck are you getting 3% from?

No. What I am saying is that I feel as though you were reading something into my post as 'truth,' something that wasn't actually there. Then using this as your basepoint for the rest of your reply. In doing so casting aspersions based on reasoning that stems from falsehood - and so leaving me baffled as to how I could possibly reply. It is like me sharing a passage from a book and asking what you think of it, then you replying as though I shared a passage from another book, whilst insisting that you are replying to the passage I shared. Hence 'what the fuck?' How is it possible to communicate with someone in this way? I don't know. Maybe I could try the equivalent of 'If I want to know what time it is where you are, then I'll ask you what the weather's like.' And so we have misunderstandings and conversations that go round and round in circles and achieve very little. The strange thing is, I don''t actually believe that we are poles apart in some ways - just that this is more than a little bit lost in translation. Humans, eh? No wonder the world is as it is. But if there comes to be a deeper clarity beyond the confusion, then maybe it will all have been worthwhile. Have a beautiful day.

Perhaps I want to able to come to some consensus and none can be had as I am a Progressive and proud of it and others are neolibs with fake intentions, happy to let things trundle on.

You know, the funny thing is, as an example there are those at the bottom of the pile, giving their lives to help in this pandemic. And yet these neolibs are at the front of the crowd happy clapping their 'support' for key-workers.

The irony being the support for incrementalism affects the very same key-workers they pledge 'support' to as the big corps keep their massive profits.

It's what gets my goat the most and why 'conversation' is at a dead end.

Are you saying that you 'know' I am a neolib with fake intentions - that you 'know' what my circumstances are at the moment? Seem to be
quite big assumptions that you are making.

But yes you call yourself a progressive and others outside of this neolibs with fake intentions. That does not come across as an attitude that is even the slightest bit welcoming to consensus. What might happen if you chose to swallow your pride for a moment? Could there be room for understanding and agreement, even if that agreement was just to say 'ok we see things different ways?' Otherwise, surely you can understand that the positions you take could be seen divisive? Anyhow. Enjoy your pride, that's the most important thing in all of this...

I really am not certain how this thread can continue to go on and on like this.

Seems to me the choices are get behind Biden, get behind Trump, or say you need more time to make up your mind.

If you’re going to vote third party or write-in or not vote in “protest”, have the courage to say so.
I'm voting 3rd Party. Said that long ago. Takes no courage whatsoever to do so. It's my duty and right.

Fuck me, you're navel-gazing.

You're fairly new to this 'discussion', yet you're ready to assume I mention you as a 'neolib'. If you're willing to be that offended read the whole thread. You understand the sweet sum of FA, jumping into a long thread at this point.

It's funny you're happy to point to me as being 'divisive', but care not about anyone else being neolib, divisive against lower working class.

It's not a flattering look when you pretend to be a balanced view; you're not. You like the thought of being such.

You keep your 'intellectual' cool cat persona.

I thought you would offer nothing and no thought provoking points for me. Glad you proved me right.

Surely if Sanders can’t win the Dem nomination he’s got no chance against Trump?

But Corbyn won the Labour vote but was hopeless though-out the country

I’m not sure what(if anything) can be drawn in membership votes but it makes no odds. Any self respecting Dem should be voting for anyone who isn’t Trump - never mind the revolution or whatever ‘cause my is next on the list just get back to basics. Win!

That may or may not make sense as I’m half pissed
