Democrat US Presidential Nominations

I have almost zero personal wishes for American politics, I believe we should stay out of their business as agreed in 1778.

I honestly don’t care if it’s Trump or Sanders, as long as that person doesn’t cause WW3 (I am aware Trump tried it with the assassination).

Looking in from the outside, I just don’t think Sanders would ever win.

Americans want capitalism and that’s their right.
I think the popular vote in America is a lot more left-leaning than the Electoral College allows it to be.

Sanders is NOT anti-capitalism and never has been.

He wants a fairer deal for the lower classed working people; you know higher wages.

As I said earlier in this thread (& classically ignored) how can you praise and applaud key-workers, calling them 'heroes' and actively vote for a system that denies them better pay. It's here and in the States.

It's the definition of crazy and hypocrisy.

Well because there’s a need for balance and a strong economy to pay for the health service is very much key.

Do you spend money on more key workers to improve the service or do you give them all pay rises? You could say both but where are you pulling that money from and when we’ve got a deficit to reduce and cuts are having to be made somewhere, it’s not that easy.

Lots of the left genuinely want the investment being given now, during a crisis, to be the norm.

It would bankrupt the country.

There’s nothing I despise more in politics is lines like that, that you shouldn’t get a service or you shouldn’t appreciate people because of the way you voted.

It’s none of your business who people vote for.

“A lot more” is a stretch, I agree it is somewhat but enough to elect Sanders?
Possibly not. But who saw Trump coming? After 8 years of Obama, Trump was about as polar opposite as it was possible to get.

The unfortunate thing about US Politics, and the UK is actually the same, when was the last time you remember a GE being won by the candidate who wasn’t the most charismatic in the race?

Politics is becoming more and more like a reality TV gameshow.

Theresa May?

You’re right but she’s the exception.

Theresa May?

You’re right but she’s the exception.
In fairness she was going in to that election with really high approval ratings and expected to walk to a big majority.

She ran an absolutely diabolical campaign and lost her majority. Could she be seen as the winner in that election? Going from a majority in to a hung parliament?

I guess technically she won, but it was a bit of a Sophie’s choice that election ;-)

Fuck me, you're navel-gazing.

You're fairly new to this 'discussion', yet you're ready to assume I mention you as a 'neolib'. If you're willing to be that offended read the whole thread. You understand the sweet sum of FA, jumping into a long thread at this point.

It's funny you're happy to point to me as being 'divisive', but care not about anyone else being neolib, divisive against lower working class.

It's not a flattering look when you pretend to be a balanced view; you're not. You like the thought of being such.

You keep your 'intellectual' cool cat persona.

I thought you would offer nothing and no thought provoking points for me. Glad you proved me right.
It is so difficult for you to understand the simple concept that someone not writing on a thread does not necessarily mean
that they haven't read it? Apparently so.
"You understand the sweet sum of FA" This just makes me laugh. Have you actually read the thread?
Anyhow I gave it a go. Have you come across Plato's allegory of the cave? Might make interesting for a self-defined
'progressive.'
So, keep your 'pride' - and have fun trying to hide the shame that happens to be on the other side of that coin.

Is maths that hard for you?

It's all in there. You screamed Biden leading #45 by 11%. I told you another poll said 8%.

Do you need me to help you any further...?
You said “smashing it - 3%”

What the fuck does that mean? he’s either 8 or 11 up. What’s the relevance of the 3% (which is also the margin of error)?

And 11 points was the latest poll. Where’s your link:

I have no clue what the fuck you mean by your last line, which is not unusual. It has NOTHING to do with anything I said. I note the irony of suggesting we should hire more key-workers instead of raising the wage as you can't do both because 'bankruptcy'.

You're obviously not, and have never been, a key-worker or you'd realise the reason why so many people have left that position (especially those in healthcare) is because it doesn't pay enough for stress levels the job enacts.

Your thought process makes this a catch-22 problem. This is the fear-mongering delivered by conservatism; that to make a country profitable you need to squeeze the bottom to make the top larger. What happens when you squeeze the bottom of anything to force top value of anything? I'll leave you to imagine.

Or, the alternative is to release the pressure at the bottom by not inflating the top, so much.

Why are you happy to artificially inflate the top(big business) if they are the pride of capitalism? Aren't they supposed to live and die by profit margin, for one? Ah no, cos they employ x amount of people that we have to keep afloat by... creating artificial money for them to survive as well. By your logic, both cannot happen when it is.

You need to think a bit further than what you're told.

I won't hold my breathe expecting you to address the relevant points.

You’re such a patronising person for someone that’s lived your life and is in your position. Why the fuck do you assume you know more or are more widely read than @Ban-jani ? He’s a successful young bloke who’s making something of himself.
