Democrat US Presidential Nominations

By the way, for those who think Sanders will be chewed up by #45, just listen to how he answers the questions about #45 and other billionaires in the video on the page before.

He's fantastic, I couldn't agree more. It doesn't matter though. Trump's cult will dutifully turn up to vote against the "Socialist", and unless the blue tsunami vote is strong, Independents who've benefited from their perception of the Trump economy and fear of the Antifa leftism they believe is a simmering undercurrent will vote for Trump.

What I want to know is how does Sanders win the national election? What's the strategy? How does he galvanize a very disparate left?

I think the reason this doesn't matter as much to you is because it's more important that Sanders get the nomination than Trump be defeated. Tell the truth -- would you rather see Biden win the nom and beat Trump, or Sanders win the nom and lose to Trump? All i care about is Trump getting beaten. I don't care who nor (much) how.

I'm not at loggerheads with you at all. I know what your thoughts are on the whole thing. The national vote is the same conversation he's been having. Nothing really needs to change, except tweaking one or two things that don't play very well like the prisoner vote. The 'disparate left' need to be a bit more open to the msg and be included in the national conversation as he's not intending to left anyone behind. It has to be a two way street in that regard.

The reason why I wanted to highlight the Q&A in the vid was because he's never been given this opportunity in front of the MSM before. It's a whole different platform in which he revelled in. If I'm honest I got a little goosebumpy with the confidence he imbued. Almost 'presidential' I think.

I digress though...

For me, this almost a black and white issue for some Dems, but this is not the case.

Biden win the nom and beat #45... Why? Biden has LOTS of problems in his past. LOTS! These can easily be revisited on how he's untrustworthy(irony I know, but it's there!) and he has BURISMA and Hunter to contend with against #45. He will be destroyed.

If Sanders won the vote but lost to #45... Why again...? You can't use socialism/ communism because that can be simply batted away. I mean look at the way he answered that question from the press. What would Orange Blimp use against an accomplished politician with barely a dent in his record?

Finally, the other issue being if Biden does manage to get in, nothing will change for blue collar worker and that's what people don't want.

As Iowa proved, they're not confident in Dodgy Joe. Even with the low Black vote in Iowa, Sanders came away with 43%, way above anyone else.

And, if we're talking about projection...

Who do you expect moderates to vote for if it’s a choice between Sanders and Trump? Both sides need moderates to win. The term “Socialist” is akin to “Communist” which is akin to “Enemy” here. A couple of Americans have already explained this to you better than I can. There won’t be any “batting away” of it — Sanders will embrace the term, just as Trump wants him to. Trump won’t have to lift a finger. He’ll point to the unemployment rate and stock market, say the proof is in the numbers, cloak himself in the flag, say Sanders wants to tear it down with a wrecking ball, and win. Unless I’m wrong about the backlash. I hope I am.

Iowa is ONE state. Clinton got 2.6 pct there in 92. It “proves” nothing. Arguably more important for Mayor Pete in terms of a boost. But I already said I don’t think Biden’s heart is in it. He’s running because someone needs to be the voice — more like symbol — of decorum, reason and experience; he feels he owes it to the party. That isn’t translating into enthusiasm or a fight. You’re right, he knows he’ll be castigated every single day by every Trump sycophant and be fighting off brickbats while Trump is free to announce his revenge on his enemies at a prayer breakfast and no one bats an eye. Even you, who I think claims to be liberal, are using Trump’s same insults against Biden. It would be laughable if I wasn’t appalled at how blind that is.

But you won’t answer my question because you don’t want to hear it when you give the answer I know you’d give if you were honest about it. And you don’t vote so you won’t say.

You gotta love Bernie.

No bullshit and talks sense. I could listen to him all day.

He's got fucking no chance, has he?
His chances are as good as any other Democrat and better than most.

He is leading a workers movement. So they'll vote for him and he could win. But the problem is he doesn't have coattails. So other Democrats running for lesser offices may lose more due to lack of money and Support from the DNC.

The big money donor's don't like Sanders. And he is not beholden to them. So they'll try to stop him or at best limit his power by withholding their cash from the DNC.

Let's be frank, Bernie is a 1 term President at Best. So they'll try to pick his Vice (Possibly Amy Klobuchar) and then try to wait him out for 4 years. Then the Money would flow back in to DNC coffers like manna from heaven for 2024.

Lots of moderate congressional Democrats candidates will lose in the meantime if Bernie is the top of the ticket..

In a way, it makes sense. The Democrats will prioritize their power over the people or Bernie. And Bernie hurts that possibility. The DNC is struggling with fundraising as is right now. While the Republicans are flush.

It's part of why they are bending over backwards to please Bloomberg. They are almost guaranteed to need his money and operation come the fall. Whether he is the candidate or not.

I'll vote for Klobachuer if she makes it to Pennsylvania. I think she makes the most sense and has the experience in government. The dems should be priming her for 2024. None of these will beat Trump this time, but to quote Bob Dylan "the times they are a changing ".

I'm not sure what I haven't answered. You're not seeing that if #45 uses the 'socialism' argument Sanders will just show him what tax giveaways and subsidies are. Not to mention funding emergency services. Why wouldn't healthcare be in that mix?

Unemployment? Blue collars working 2-3 jobs or taking home low pay as wages in the main haven't grown with inflation in 10 years. Same story as the UK. People are wise to this now. The moderate voter must know things need realigning!

I'm not crowing about Iowa. For me, Iowa was nothing more than a litmus test to see if Sanders' message still held power going into the 'more important' caucus fights and he's proved that.

As for using Tango's words, well, it's not his alone.

It's an obvious narrative considering Biden's terrible political record and him being a gaffe machine.

I mean he's been caught on camera telling people to vote for other candidates if they're not confident in him!

How about convincing people of your vision, Joe, FFS!!

I'll give you this, the running mate is going to plot the course past Sanders' term if he wins.

However, your supposition of Klobuchar will only happen IF Sanders' agrees to it.

But I suspect that Bernie Sanders will long continue to be a rebel and pick his own choice.

I mean, why would he want to undo everything his legacy would be built upon, especially if his policies redresses the balance for people?

This whole argument is completely misunderstanding the US electorate who largely can't vote on their personal situation because that situation won't change whoever they get.

Obama didn't do anything for wages, unemployment, wage growth or even healthcare and neither did Bush and neither did Clinton.

You say the US is wise to it, and the UK is wise to it but yet here is Trump in power likely to win again and Labour just had their worst election failure in history.

I went to Vegas last year, we got talking to a few people and they all said the same thing... "I hate Trump but things are going okay" and then many others loved the bloke.

The leftist opposition is the reason for major progressive policy failings over the last 10 years. I'd call it the far left opposition delusion.
