Denis Law diagnosed with Alzheimers and vascular dementia

Such a lovely, lovely man, so very sad to hear about his condition. When I was a young messenger lad at the express in manchester, Denis used to write a column, he would always buy you a brew, have time to chat, always approachable, never arrogant or conceited, and always had time for you. I wish him and his family well. God bless Denis.

Bad news. Another player of that generation suffering from it.

My dad still reckons he's the best City striker he's ever seen (the first time he played for us before he went to Torino and wherever else he played), which may be the blue tinted glasses of history, but shows how good he was.

Really sad news. My own Dad is in the later stages of dementia, it's an awful disease.
It is indeed awful. My bro in law suffers from dementia brought on with Parkinsons. About 20% of Parkinsons sufferers succumb to dementia.
I send my good wishes to you Ric and your family and, of course, to Denis and his.

It's scary just how many on this thread have been touched by this horrible disease. We've just moved my in-laws in with us as the old fella has "mild" dementia.
Reading this thread, I'm not looking forward to having my wife witness first hand the slow demise of her Dad.

Never heard anyone in Manchester say a bad word about Denis. He's a legend at City and United.
