I think this season will be pivotal for him so he needs a loan to a lower end Prem club where he will sink or hopefully swim.

Don't fool yourself it would be a great move for him he'd follow the footsteps of xavi, iniesta, fabregas and other great midfielders they've nurtured and if he's stuck in their reserve set up it would mean he's not good enough.

Guillem Balague (the guy who wrote the Pep book and seems to have his finger on all things Barcelona) has just said the following on Twitter;

"Another young promise that couldn't develop in the riches of the PL. 90% done deal that Denis Suarez of City will join Barcelona B"

Looks like a fairly done deal then.

Barcelona are hoping to finalise a deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Denis Suarez by the end of the week.

The Spain Under-20 international has made only two appearances for the club following his move from Celta Vigo back in 2011.

Suarez appears unlikely to make a breakthrough into the first-team even though Manuel Pellegrini has now taken charge and seems certain to leave the club before the end of August.

Spanish newspaper Sport claims Barcelona expect to conclude a move to sign him in the next few days which will see him released from the final year of his contract.

Big things were expected from Suarez when he first arrived at City and he will be desperate to get his career back on track with the Spanish giants
