He is basically a hybrid of Yaya and Ferna
Can’t help but think you’re slightly over hyping him, as a hybrid of Yaya and Fern would be a pretty special player.

Obviously the guy to replace Dinho. The Double Pivot podcast analysts were asked which player could have most improved Man City.
Firstly they said that by far the main problem was getting a DM that was like a younger Fernandinho. Much more important than a left back or another striker.
The player they identified was Denis Zaharia from BM in Germany.
I've no Idea if they are correct but that’s their opinion.

I don't see much of Yaya in him to be honest so the talk of Dennis being a hybrid of Yaya/Dinho doesn't work for me, I see him more as having certain attributes similar to Dinho's / Essien's style of play. I think we need these type of players in our team, right now we have Rodri and Ake, dinho would be leaving soon, Gundo isn't the combative midfield type so there's more than enough space for a player like Dennis.I’ll be honest and say I don’t know much about him but they agreed with you and said it was obvious.
Maybe in January or June City will try for him.
his most recent injury is a bit worrisome though. injured his knee in march and still is not fit. him and the club first said its nothing major but he still cannot train 100%.
he is nothing like yaya (prime). because he dribbles once in a while? passing range is way lower/long shots etc
if i really had to compare him to a player id say he has certain characteristics of kante/essien with a much bigger frame.
I dont think we will ever see this type of player while pep is hereI’ll be honest and say I don’t know much about him but they agreed with you and said it was obvious.

Belief Man City have 'good chances' of securing midfielder - Tracked player since 2017
Manchester City were in ‘intensive discussions’ with Borussia Mönchengladbach defensive midfielder Denis Zakaria before their suspension from the Champions League earlier this year. That’s according to Rheinische Post, who believe it is only logical that City will return for the player this...sportwitness.co.uk
Seems Pep is a fan and he always said if City had three Fernandinhos we would win the lot!
Maybe, but I don’t think we ever considered a player for that position this summer, we may next summer when Fernandinho goes.Article is from july 2020...so however likrly they thought it was it didnt happen.
I wouod always take what pep says about any player publically with a pinch of salt....even our own....says he wants 3 fernas then replaces him with rodri whom he is nothing like

Let me guess puig and alena are better, right?I like Zakaria but agree it would seem a strange target for Pep who understands this position better than anyone IMHO. He's a far more mobile & vertical DM than Rodri who can ride through tackles & get into more advanced attacking positions but I am not at all convinced that he is on the same technical level
Great motor but overall a bit inferior to Partey for example yet this might be a scenario that could explain the link to the player
