Denis Zakaria

I think free transfers will become the norm soon players getting big sign on fees instead of transfer fees

Six/seven year contracts gonna become the norm to combat this, I feel like our last few signings have all been 6 year deals.

I mean there‘s always going to be a team that will take them for less. Dunno about 6 year deals unless u are maybe a top 5 club. Even then I doubt players want to stay for that long.

Move on hes not good enough

We have 1 of our own in Lavia
Unless it's Rice then it's chip shop paper nothing more imo...
I agree on Zakaria and I agree that Rice should be a priority. But Lavia is nowhere near someone Pep would rely on now

Idk where it started but I'm seeing (on Twitter) quite a bit on Zakaria to Liverpool, possibly for 6M in January. Probably false because can't find the original source.

I hope not. would be a great signing for them.

80m for rice to play as a back up to rodri? that doesn't make any sense. Zakaria is good enough to be a backup and he is on a free with cheap wages.
I’ve said a million times that Pep doesn’t sign players as “back ups” conceptually with very few exceptions. If a player is signed, it’s because he will be active in the squad (especially for a player I can believe the rumors Pep is quite fond of). It’s why we have less squad players than some rivals and also why I don’t think Zakaria would be it for Pep. Even on the “would be free” point, Kamara from Marseille is a much better player and also free in the summer. Watched him again this Sunday.

I keep seeing links to us, has to be agent chatter. I think he's going to end up at a West Ham or some other club in Prem if so, but genuinely interested to see what comes of it (maybe even Serie A). I have liked him since a while, saw the best of him under Marco Rose, but not quite the same recently. Obviously if we are genuinely monitoring him it's different and we'll have studied his strengths and weaknesses.

He's heavily linked with a move to Dortmund in Germany. I think they are losing Witsel to Juve (possibly) at the same time.

That would make sense. Too early to call some of these moves, Dortmund look like they'll be heavily involved in transfer business this coming summer.

BMG taking offers of 6m this month for him... not bad.

Can't help but feel this will be like the Aouar situation. Seemingly a talented midfielder available for a cut price yet nobody goes for him.

His contract ends at the end of the season

Yeah I know?

My point is that he has been available for a while, why is no club signing him on a pre-contract or jumping at 6m. Aouar was on the market for 20m or something last summer and no one jumped in. There must be something we are missing.
