Didn't want to speculate at the time for obvious reasons but it did appear they had stopped cpr and didn't seem in an overly critical need to get him off the pitch as fast as possible which suggested their treatment had either worked or hadn't. If that pic is genuine it's a great sight

Waiting for the official announcement. Please be as positive as it sounds it will be. I turned the tv off as soon as cpr started because we all knew what was happening. The producer/director at the bbc could have done the same with the feed. Still, if he's alive thats all that matters...at least for today.

What does the next few days mean for him? Is he in with a good chance of recovery now he’s survived that or will he be in serious danger still?

We don't know yet. I think it is safe to say his tournament is over.
He may make a recovery back to playing but all that matters is he is breathing and responsive and alive. Anything else is a huge bonus right now.

Shows importance of good quality CPR and early defib use. Please everyone go on a basic life support course or sit and watch some tutorials on you tube. If you are ever in that situation just try. Using a defib isn’t scary it the Automatic ones in public places literally talk you through what to do. You can’t make it worse

Absolutely agree. Was going to do a first aid course before lockdown and have forgot about it completely. I will be booking one on Monday. I know I’d hate it if I witnessed something like that and wasn’t able to help.

Hopefully, the news is better in both short and long term.

I do recall Jock Stein had cameras in his face when he was stretchered off the pitch after his fatal heart-attack and there was live TV coverage of the stand at Goodison where Harry Catterick suffered a similar fate. I couldn't help thinking then that the first his family heard about it was on live TV and that is truly awful.

I tend to agree that once it's obvious that someone is seriously ill, the cameras should pan away. The pictures of the families of the Challenger in the wake of the explosion were truly dreadful and intrusive.

Fantastic news that he’s conscious.

He just stood there looking a bit confused. Let's hope he makes a full recovery even if he doesn't play again he will be around for his family. Some things are more important than football

Gettig him stable to be able to move him takes as long as it takes, there is a golden hour which includes the time it takes to stabilise them

All that matters is Christian is okay. Hopefully for him he can continue playing football at some point but if not we are all just utterly relieved and happy that he's pulling though.

The coverage was sickening and voyeuristic. They should have cut away as soon as they realised the severity of the incident. We should never have seen his distressed wife. They shouldn't have lingered on such a tragic situation, it was horrendous I can't imagine what impact watching that as a young child might have.
Whoever was in charge of BBC's coverage deserves their p45 in the morning. An apology to the Eriksen family afterwards would be the least they could do.

The broadcaster which were in charge of the filming should be ashamed of themselves. I’m assuming it will be a danish broadcaster which makes it even worst. BBC are cunts for not cutting the coverage.
