Depeche Mode

One of the greatest acts of all time with some of their 12" remixes, especially the rare ones incredible.

Didn't Frank Sidebottom sing a cover version of "your own personal jesus?"

Because they are Bimbo's favourites?
What you mean???

That would be me mate.

New album is a stonker, the band are legends in my eyes. Sold over 100 million records, most remixed band in history etc etc.

O2 in May will be brilliant.

Here's the review I wrote...

Great review. Have to dissagree with you about best album since Violator though. I think Songs Of Faith And Devotion is there greatest work.

i'd say you overestimate their influence. They went downhill after 'See You'<br /><br />-- Sun Apr 07, 2013 10:48 am --<br /><br />

I heard it was Johnny Cash, easily confused though.

Captain Kirk did

love depeche mode but the last couple of albums have seen them go downhill. their golden period for me was black celebration thru to songs of faith and devotion. violator is an all time classic. ultra was the last decent album they did imo.

I'm not sure that you could call one of the biggest selling industrial/ electro pop bands of all time 'unappreciated'.
Bands who were equally if not more influential, such as Throbbing Gristle,Cabaret Voltaire,Clock DVA,Test Department,SPK,Einsturzende Neubauten and the like certainly never got either the financial rewards or critical acclaim, but Depeche Mode are millionaires several times over, and you would have had to be living in a tree house in the Patagonian rain forest not to have heard of them in the 80's.

You think they went downhill after one of their first singles????

I've been listening to "101" in the car lately on repeat. They were absolutely huge in America in the 90's. The new album in my opinion is up there with Violator.
