Dear Steven B*******,

As the Match Commander for the forthcoming Manchester United v Manchester City fixture this Sunday, I would like to offer a very warm welcome to all supporters attending the fixture.

Whilst everyone recognises the significance of this fixture, I am sure we all share the same view that we want to enjoy the occasion and be thoroughly entertained in a safe environment.

I have met with supporter groups representatives from both clubs to discuss any issues or concerns you as supporters may have. As a result of this meeting there are some key points I would wish to highlight to aid your enjoyment of the fixture:

  1. Turnstiles will be open at 12:05pm, two hours before kick-off at 2:05pm.
  2. You cannot drink alcohol in public places, in Trafford or in Manchester City Centre, due to the Designated Public Places Order being in existence. There are licensed premises in the area of Old Trafford and the city centre, and supporters will be able to purchase alcoholic drinks inside the stadium from 12:05pm when the turnstiles open. The sale of alcoholic drinks will be restricted to two drinks per visit to the bar on away concourses and adjacent home concourses.
  3. I would like to remind all supporters that pyrotechnics are dangerous and are not welcome by the majority of fans. They cause breathing difficulties and we have had occasions when fans have panicked as a consequence of them being set off in the stadium. It is an offence to enter a stadium with such an item and those engaging in this behaviour risk arrest, prosecution and the prospect of a football banning order.
  4. I would please ask all fans not to engage in any form of offensive or racist chanting and I will be instructing police officers to take positive action against any supporter, home or away, who engages in this behaviour.
  5. At this moment in time there is no intention to 'holdback' the away supporters within the stadium at the end of the fixture, however circumstances on the day may cause this decision to be reviewed. If it is deemed necessary then messages will be relayed over the tannoy system and supporters will be kept fully updated through regular announcements within the stadium, and we would aim to keep the duration to a minimum. If a 'holdback' is deemed necessary on the day, the Police will work closely with stewards to ensure that supporters can access toilet facilities during this time and that any other necessary requirements from supporters are facilitated.
  6. Information and advice for those travelling by coach, private vehicles or public transport can be found here.
Greater Manchester Police will be utilising social media to communicate with supporters both leading up to and during the fixture, and will use this method to pass on any relevant information in order to assist supporters of both Manchester United and Manchester City to have a safe and enjoyable experience.

SUPPORTERS TRAVELLING BY PRIVATE VEHICLES
Car parking is very limited in the streets near to the stadium.
Residents
parking scheme is in
operation on match days and those streets to which the scheme applies are clearly sign
posted. There are a number of car parks in the vicinity of the stadium, wh
ich require
payment of a parking fee.
For secure parking, try one of the following:
-
1.
The large, official car park on Elevator Road.
2.
A car park on John Gilbert Way.
3.
Various car parks along Talbot Road, including the Centrica Building, Lancashire
County Cri
cket Club and Trafford Town Hall
The following advice is given by the Greater Manchester Police regarding the use of ‘On
Street’ and unauthorised car parking
.
The Greater Manchester Police would like to remind
all supporters who have come to today’s game
by private car of the risk to your vehicles
from Car Crime.

Your vehicle is at risk if you fail to park it in a designated and stewarded match day
car park.

If you are travelling from outside Manchester ensure that you know the location of
these car parks
.

Do not park your vehicle in an unsupervised area or on local residents roads, not
only will your vehicle be at risk from crime but also it will create an obstruction to
local residents. You may avoid the initial cost of the car parking but the cost of c
ar
crime or a fixed penalty notice will be much greater.

Don’t leave any belongings in your car, a coat, CD player, bag, briefcase or club
merchandise are all invitations to the car thief. If you must leave valuables then lock
them in the car boot.

Please secure all doors and windows, fit anti
-
theft devices and activate any vehicle
alarms and imobilisers.

Consider the use of public transport, bus, tram and train all serve the ground on
match days.

Enjoy the game
-
don’t let
car crime spoil it for
you.

Got a feeling the holdback will depend on them winning....

If they do manage a win we can expect ato least a 1 hour of rag songs.

Not sure about taking a draw. We're better in every department, even with our injuries.

It's good to feel so confident before a derby again.

With kompany and kolarov back, and with the way we've been playing of late, I'm going for 4-0 City.

Cmon blues!!!!!

KDB YAYA

Yaya plays just behind KDB or the other way around.
KDB can roam to left or center

Call me genious

I like it. It addresses the Bony issue and gets our strongest 11 on the pitch.

Outcome? Who knows. But it will depend entirely on us. Arsenal gave us the blueprint - start aggressively, move the ball quickly, press high up the pitch and we'll absolutely fucking murder them. If half-assed, ponderous, non-pressing City turn up, we'll get beat. It really is as simple as that for me.

Thats a bad selection. Bony can't start, but I think it is exactly what Pellers will go with (maybe swap Sterling and KDB)

I wish I could be this confident. I presume they'll try to set up like this:

De Gea
Darmain (fresh), Smalling, Jones, Blind (fresh)
Schneiderlin, Herrera, Schweinsteger (fresh)
Mata, Rooney, Martial

This is not a bad side and they look pretty balanced. Don't know if Delph would be available and/or whether it's best to play him tomorrow but we can only hope for the very best. I'll jump at a 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 win tomorrow tbh.
