Derby Pre Match thread

Merson completely fails to take into account that United are at home and that will dictate how they play. It will not be all attack by City with United trying to pick us off. United will at least try to take the game to us, its more likely that City will be doing the picking off.
not sure about this mate. The filoshiphy appears to involve a lot of sideways passing and possession while hoping for a couple of opposition mistakes or a bit of luck in the box. Dull, shit to watch, but as the league table shows often effective for blagging a result. There is of course the knock it up to the bog brush for the last half hour while he elbows his way onto the scoresheet tactic which our CB's will have to watch too. If we play to our best and the ref wears a black rather than red shirt we'll do them.

If Kompany doesn't play because Manuel persists with his 'I'm in the manager' shit then someone needs a word. He's made his point, if he persists then he's being very detrimental towards the team.

Dear Steven B*******,

As the Match Commander for the forthcoming Manchester United v Manchester City fixture this Sunday, I would like to offer a very warm welcome to all supporters attending the fixture.

Whilst everyone recognises the significance of this fixture, I am sure we all share the same view that we want to enjoy the occasion and be thoroughly entertained in a safe environment.

I have met with supporter groups representatives from both clubs to discuss any issues or concerns you as supporters may have. As a result of this meeting there are some key points I would wish to highlight to aid your enjoyment of the fixture:

  1. Turnstiles will be open at 12:05pm, two hours before kick-off at 2:05pm.
  2. You cannot drink alcohol in public places, in Trafford or in Manchester City Centre, due to the Designated Public Places Order being in existence. There are licensed premises in the area of Old Trafford and the city centre, and supporters will be able to purchase alcoholic drinks inside the stadium from 12:05pm when the turnstiles open. The sale of alcoholic drinks will be restricted to two drinks per visit to the bar on away concourses and adjacent home concourses.
  3. I would like to remind all supporters that pyrotechnics are dangerous and are not welcome by the majority of fans. They cause breathing difficulties and we have had occasions when fans have panicked as a consequence of them being set off in the stadium. It is an offence to enter a stadium with such an item and those engaging in this behaviour risk arrest, prosecution and the prospect of a football banning order.
  4. I would please ask all fans not to engage in any form of offensive or racist chanting and I will be instructing police officers to take positive action against any supporter, home or away, who engages in this behaviour.
  5. At this moment in time there is no intention to 'holdback' the away supporters within the stadium at the end of the fixture, however circumstances on the day may cause this decision to be reviewed. If it is deemed necessary then messages will be relayed over the tannoy system and supporters will be kept fully updated through regular announcements within the stadium, and we would aim to keep the duration to a minimum. If a 'holdback' is deemed necessary on the day, the Police will work closely with stewards to ensure that supporters can access toilet facilities during this time and that any other necessary requirements from supporters are facilitated.
  6. Information and advice for those travelling by coach, private vehicles or public transport can be found here.
Greater Manchester Police will be utilising social media to communicate with supporters both leading up to and during the fixture, and will use this method to pass on any relevant information in order to assist supporters of both Manchester United and Manchester City to have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Chief Inspector Dean Howard
Greater Manchester Police

Why when they wrote to you did they say Dear Steven Bastard? Disrespectful cunts

I know the guy is a piss head. But can't disagree on this .

I fear pellegrini will fuck it up .In my opinion, asI've said it before whatever we acheive this season will be in spite of him and not because of him.
Well if you said it, and Paul Merson said if, then I reckon we will be ok

I wish I could be this confident. I presume they'll try to set up like this:

De Gea
Darmain (fresh), Smalling, Jones, Blind (fresh)
Schneiderlin, Herrera, Schweinsteger (fresh)
Mata, Rooney, Martial

This is not a bad side and they look pretty balanced. Don't know if Delph would be available and/or whether it's best to play him tomorrow but we can only hope for the very best. I'll jump at a 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 win tomorrow tbh.
I will take 3 0 or 3 1 to us, and definitely on Sunday
