How does the club get away with this match ticket priority thing ? If you had in excess of 1500 points you could not buy a ticket unless you had match ticket priority, whatever that is supposed to mean. Then members with 750 points were able to buy a ticket ahead of members with more than double the points than they had, purely because they had match ticket priority. Is this fair ? How much does MTP cost and is the game v the Rags the only game MTP is going to be used for and why does the club do this anyway ? Purely to make more money out of the supporters.

MTP is used for every game i believe, its good cos its a way that those with feck all points (like me) can gain a slight advantage over some fans when it comes to tickets.

its only an extra £10 or £15 i believe, anyone (let alone a ST holder) would be mad not to get it
The club may as well do away with the loyalty point scheme for all the good it now does. This is just yet another legitimate way to bypass the system by paying for the privilege. City should stop doing this sort of shit; it really doesn't sit well with the whole 'loyalty' ethos they love to espouse.

I am presuming that you are a ST Holder.

If so then when you register with Viagogo you have to enter your ST details.

Once you have done this you can then buy up to 4 extra tickets for any home City match.
As a ST Holder the points criteria doesn't apply - IE you don't need 2000.

The club will send you the Paper Tickets in the post.

My mate has just tried this for me and it comes back

"One of the memberships selected is unable to buy tickets for this event due to restrictions in place by the club, please review your selection. A member may be able to purchase more than one ticket per event."

He's got over 6000pts so what you said can't be right?? Or am I missing something?

He must link the purchase to his Season ticket/Blue membership because your membership does not meet the criteria. Tell him to select his membership in the drop down menu and the sale will go through.
I am a Platinum member and did just this for a Blue member mate of mine.

Done this - He started an account with his details, his season ticket and the same thing happened? Maybe its because yours is platinum??

Nothing to do with being platinum. I'm platinum with over 7000 points and have tried to get a ticket for a family member who has blue membership with priority and it is coming up with the same message you have had. Seems you do have to have 2000 points on the blue membership card to get a ticket for this. Probably why virtually none have sold on there so far.

Mansour and others, absolutely spot on ! The club should be ashamed of itself for this pathetic excuse to squeeze a few extra quid out of fans who are paying high prices for match tickets in the first place. I will be writing to complain but I doubt anything will be done about it. My circumstances dictated that i couldn't get a season ticket just at the time we became mega successful. I have been to over 1000 City games since 1970 yet am very much treated as a second class citizen by the club, purely because the loyalty points system means it is only your record of attendance since we moved stadium that counts. I had a season ticket for many years at Maine Rd, they must have record of this somewhere ? Why does the club not give me several thousand loyalty points for those years of misery watching crap. In this case, the club craps on about loyalty, yet someone with double the number of loyalty points than others can't get a match ticket unless you make another payment to the club. It is only a token amount but it is the principal that pisses me off.

Hmmm... looks like I am one of the only ones 'happy' with the Blue Membership with Ticket Priority. I now live 'down South' and have had my Blue Membership for probably about 8 years. I go to 3 or 4 Home games per season and probably about the same 'Aways'.... I've managed to keep my points 'ticking along nicely', and now have 880 - which means that I was able to get a Derby ticket - was a bit worried this year - I seem to be closer to not getting one than last April.... I also went to to the QPR game last year as well.... Am happy to pay the £25 which has enabled me to get my own ticket for Utd, Real Madrid at Home, and West Ham and Chelsea Away this Season - although I had to buy a Fulham ticket in the neutral seats because of the low allocation .....

It does annoy me that 'sometimes' I have had to buy tickets from fellow Bluemooners for certain Away games, and hence - no Loyalty points for me, but as someone who doesn't go to every match, I can cope with that as long as I am able to buy a ticket and get Points for other matches....

You are right mate the club will do nothing about it if you complain, I sent them an email complaining about them using both loyalty points and MTP, saying they should use one system or the other and the reply basically said it's in the terms and conditions etc.

I'm in a similar boat to you, started going in the mid 70's, had a season ticket for years at Maine Road but circumstances dictated I had to give it up. I'm over the 1000 point mark so I don't do too bad on the ticket front but I don't take the I'm alright jack attitude, I believe it's wrong what the club are doing.

Mansour's tow ropes is actually in favour of MTP because it lets him get tickets before those with more loyalty points than him.

Understandably so.

I phoned viaNOgogo this morning and they tell me that the MTP points are staying at 2,000 and that it is City themselves that govern this not viagoo.

can anyone make clear-

if a season ticket holder does not renew and buys 'is it the bluecard' to obtain tickets on open sale do they carry the points what they earned on there season card or to they start over again
