How does viagogo work? Can you grab a ticket from there even if you have a lower point count than City are selling at? Got a mate that really wants to go but missed out on tickets. I just went on there to see if I could grab another ticket but it didnt let me. Is this because Iv already got one? Its just that it says you can grab more than one ticket.

I am presuming that you are a ST Holder.

If so then when you register with Viagogo you have to enter your ST details.

Once you have done this you can then buy up to 4 extra tickets for any home City match.
As a ST Holder the points criteria doesn't apply - IE you don't need 2000.

The club will send you the Paper Tickets in the post.

My mate has just tried this for me and it comes back

"One of the memberships selected is unable to buy tickets for this event due to restrictions in place by the club, please review your selection. A member may be able to purchase more than one ticket per event."

He's got over 6000pts so what you said can't be right?? Or am I missing something?

He must link the purchase to his Season ticket/Blue membership because your membership does not meet the criteria. Tell him to select his membership in the drop down menu and the sale will go through.
I am a Platinum member and did just this for a Blue member mate of mine.

Ah right. There's quite a few in CB 328 for £53 plus the admin fees too.
they are the ones the club give/sell to viagogo

Same as they did for Spurs then? Announce a sell out but still available with highly inflated fees.

from what i've seen the club give them a small number of seats in the third tier, probably as part of the contract.
I'm assuming it is so viagogo are guaranteed some sales for each game

whilst the fees seem excessive its a good system for card holders to sell on their tickets if they can't make a game imho

although some disagree

we are going away over New Year so it will be a way recouping some money for once

I agree it's a good system, though I don't agree with all of the fees for booking a ticket. People are clearly paying it though so good luck to them.

How does the club get away with this match ticket priority thing ? If you had in excess of 1500 points you could not buy a ticket unless you had match ticket priority, whatever that is supposed to mean. Then members with 750 points were able to buy a ticket ahead of members with more than double the points than they had, purely because they had match ticket priority. Is this fair ? How much does MTP cost and is the game v the Rags the only game MTP is going to be used for and why does the club do this anyway ? Purely to make more money out of the supporters.

MTP is used for every game i believe, its good cos its a way that those with feck all points (like me) can gain a slight advantage over some fans when it comes to tickets.

its only an extra £10 or £15 i believe, anyone (let alone a ST holder) would be mad not to get it

If being in the family stand doesn't bother you the first couple of tickets are reasonable enough! ones under 16 though.

who ever sits near an empty seat all season be prepared as it will be taken for this game and they will be a rag who works for city so grass them up and get them chucked out straight away, mark my words!!!

With u having to sign your own city card details to the system.when you purchase a ticket do the loyalty points go onto your card ? Cheers

I wouldnt jump to conclusions. There were a couple of blokes sat near me at the April game. Never seen them before, not wearing colours, very quiet.

Then Vinny scored and they went absolutely mental.

Match ticket priority is an optional add-on for blue members, it currently costs £15 per season and is in play for all home games, it usually allows you to purchase tickets a few days before general sale, however for high demand games loyalty points also come into the equation.

I've recently complained to the club saying they should use one system or the other i.e. use loyalty points as a ticket priority system for all matches and scrap the extra fee for match ticket priority, or keep the extra fee for match ticket priority and just make the sale available to all members with match ticket priority regardless of loyalty points.

Personally I think match ticket priority is a rip off, I've bought tickets for every home game up to the derby so far this season and would have got a ticket on general sale for every single game except the derby, in other words when a game comes up where the priority would be useful they throw loyalty points into the equation as well, I've got a ticket for the derby so it's not just bitterness on my part.

You asked how the club get away with ticket priority, well the club will get away with it as long as people keep paying for it. You asked why do the club do it, well you answered your own question in the last sentence of your post.
