Derek Hatton re-admitted to Labour, suspended after two days

Just a small point of order.... it was a Labour government that first took free milk from schoolchildren.

The items on your list are decent achievements, but this is a very different Labour party to the ones that were in power when these things were achieved

No it wasn't .... It was the Conservatives ....Thats why she had the nickname Thatcher the Milk Snatcher

Not really. Labour from time immemorial has been depicted as the ‘creature of the loony left’ (Benn, Foot et al) or in the pay of its Soviet masters like PM Wilson. There were even rumours about a military coup such were the security concerns over Wilson being a KGB agent. Fast forward 30 years and everyone will be melting over how the ‘current Labour party is nothing like how it was under a proper statesman like Corbyn’.

Most of the shit over Corbyn is just the same rehashed shit since Ramsay MacDonald.

I'm more on about the anti-Semitism issue when I say they're a different party because although of course there were issues previously it's never been to this level.

Until people realise the left is every bit as bad as the right we have no chance.

This forum is the perfect example with posters calling others racists and Nazis yet all of a sudden they refuse to accept abuse from their own side and pretend it doesn’t happen.

History tells us what the left is just as capable of!

I would argue the far right are slightly worse but the far left are every nearly bit as bad.

The ignorance on this forum with relation to it is astonishing.

The good news is the more McDonnell describes himself as a Marxist - the less chance he has.

It’s always been there as it’s invariably mixed in with the views on Israel. The current leadership has given it more licence than previous leaderships have and Corbyn is tone deaf on the issue. There is a strand of thinking on the left that all Jews have a ‘secret loyalty’ to Israel or divided loyalties (or as Corbyn put it British Jews don’t get irony) which is just another way of saying Jews can’t be trusted and it all snowballs from there. Quite why all Jews are obliged to undergo ‘loyalty tests’ or have an in depth understanding of the Palestine issue is odd given most Christian Brits haven’t a fucking clue on Northern Ireland and it’s sectarian divisions but hey I guess we demand more from people we perceive as different than we do of ourselves.

I don’t believe the PLP is far left and neither is it’s core electoral support.

It’s been hijacked by Momentum who frankly should fuck off and for their own party if they believe in the shit they spout.

Decent Labour voters should vote with their feet instead of allowing Momentum to run the show, I don't see much real distancing from the moderate Labour rank and file, if you look at Corbyn and the shadow cabinet it shows that radical far right politics starts at the top and permeates down because that lot give the loons a voice.

The far right aren't mainstream they get called out, however the far left seem to think their vile ideology is belong reproach and they get uber righteous about it. We could start not having a teaching generation teaching children how to be contrary twats.

I thought he’d get at least a working majority at the ‘92 general election, even after that speech. Was pretty shocked that Major won that election (even although it arguably turned out to be a poisoned chalice). That was the first election I was entitled to vote in, even though I was 22. Just missed out in ‘87.

I voted Labour in ‘92 (would have voted Libdem if I was eligible in ‘87). On both occasions my voting intention was principally defined by the party most likely to beat the Tories within the constituency I was residing.
