Kinnock and his missus love a good old pension to tide them over.
Too right, Labour and the Tories are still navel-gazing at their own internal problems while the country drifts towards the cliff edge.
Right wing parties are, by their very nature, generally xenophobic & racist so they attract people of similar views. That’s their raison d’etre more often than not so we shouldn’t be surprised by that.
Left wing parties generally pride themselves on their tolerance and diversity. They should be the last place you’d find a racist. Yet the Labour Party under Corbyn, a man of intemperate views where Israel is concerned, has allowed an culture to develop where antisemitism is seen as acceptable or even desirable. And the leader of that party has been less than strenuous in putting the lid on it.
Until people realise the left is every bit as bad as the right we have no chance.
This forum is the perfect example with posters calling others racists and Nazis yet all of a sudden they refuse to accept abuse from their own side and pretend it doesn’t happen.
History tells us what the left is just as capable of!
The Labour party at present is far left and they try to make out that the Tory party is far right when they are not, contrary nonsense is spouted by the Labour party to try and deflect some of their quite frankly obscene views.

Labour led in every single poll right up until election day in '92 but failed to convince the electorate on the economy. It had tanked but voters were convinced that no matter how bad it had been and would be under Major, it would be worse under Kinnock. Don't forget the influence of the press then - the infamous lightbulb picture. The Tories, under Major then went on to garner more votes than any other party before or since at the ballot box. No Kinnock, no Smith, no Smith, no Blair; ergo, Kinnock paved the way for future Labour electoral success. Alistair Campbell in his brilliant diaries talks a lot about how Kinnock influenced Blair and Brown and was often someone Campbell would seek advice from. And still does.I thought he’d get at least a working majority at the ‘92 general election, even after that speech. Was pretty shocked that Major won that election (even although it arguably turned out to be a poisoned chalice). That was the first election I was entitled to vote in, even though I was 22. Just missed out in ‘87.
I voted Labour in ‘92 (would have voted Libdem if I was eligible in ‘87). On both occasions my voting intention was principally defined by the party most likely to beat the Tories within the constituency I was residing.
