Agree with the other comments. Grew into the game second half and caused plenty of problems with his pace.

I think the Welbeck comparisons are pretty spot on and if he can develop like him then we have a player on our hands.

really?

Yeah. Welbeck is slated because he's an ex-rag. He's actually a good player, and Cole would be a useful squad player if he gets to that level.

I agree Jonny,if Devante can establish himself at the level Welbeck has then he'll have done fantastically well.

Well done to him for todays goal and hopefully his overall game was impressive.

I've not slated Welbeck, but can't see how reaching his level would mean he is good enough for us. After all Welbeck was judged not good enough for 7th place United... obviously if Devante can become a solid Prem League and England player that would be brilliant

Welbeck is a good player. Not a great one, but one that works hard, puts in a shift and is a good player to have round the first team. If we can develop players of that ability who are English instead of having to spend £20m on any half decent young talent (see Henderson etc) then that's great. If Cole reaches Welbeck's level by the same age then we've done well - and who knows he might go on to be even better.

Sorry, I meant the general opinion on him rather than you. I think it's strange that Utd got rid of him, and he's certainly scoring a few goals for the Arse.

I agree that he's never going to be a world beater but he'd be an excellent squad player for a top 4 side.
