Devon, Torquay based blues.

I live near uffculme, just off junction 27 on the M5. Nearest branch to us is the yeovil branch. I am a member and can email you contact details if you want. Members tend to organize their own transport up to games. This is because people are quite spread out and its only a small branch so couldn't always fill a minibus. They do on occasions have a minibus.

The next closest is weston super mare. Another small branch. I met some of them at chelsea away. They very kindly gave up their places on a packed tube so me and my mate could get on to meet our train at paddington. If they hadn't we would have been walking back to tiverton! If you are reading big thanks. Got their contact details somewhere.

I have just bought a season ticket (south stand level 3) so obviously will be going up to every home game. With fuel approx £80 plus parking per round trip i would be well up for sharing lifts/petrol or costs for a mini bus with any devon based blues. Email me if interested.

Hope this helps.

First time poster so obviously I am a rag :)

Thanks

Your closest current OSC will be Yeovil at 60 miles ish, both Wessex Blues and Weston Super Mare are around 80 miles from you.
I visit Cornwall and Devon quite often, quite a few exiled blues live down there, an ex colleague of mine being one. Have seen plenty of blues watching games in pubs, last time was in Padstow pre season when around 30 or so were watching a game, with several of them being local and again in Hollywell Bay when 6 of us were watching the Bayern pre season game a couple of years ago, 2 were local lads.
It takes some doing setting up an OSC, you'll need a good 25 or so members to make it work for travel purposes, so long as around 10 want to travel on a regular basis and to get some tickets if not season card holders.
Its worth giving it a go, so long as a good majority have season cards ensuring they'll want to get to most games, or pass on tickets to those when they can't, so long as you can trust them.
Don't give it up, you'll be surprised how many will come out of the woodwork if somebody makes a determined bid to set one up.

Hi Stretford

I know the geography of the South West from my old job which covered Lands End to Bristol. Torquay to Yeovil is shorter than Torquay to Weston Super Mare, but is a shit road whereas once at Exeter (25 mins) it is motorway and about 1.5 hours max. Not so sure have time to setup OSC but would willingly help others. Thanks for your input

No worries...

I'm currently based in Newton Abbot (although moving back up north soon). There is a Torquay Blues facebook group that you could join up with some of the Blues on there. A couple are getting season tickets next season. link https://www.facebook.com/groups/81061305251/?fref=ts

I've been driving up to Cheltenham and getting the supporters coach from there. Seems to be the most organised of the ones around the South West. Bit of a trek I know!

Thats great thanks Ginger. Will try the link later.

We are based in North Devon and organise travel to most home games and many aways. Sharing travel and costs would be great as it's a 520 mile round trip to each home game. The south west branch has now closed down for some reason. A few blues tried starting a Devon and Cornwall branch last season but it was a logistical nightmare for meetings etc. so that idea has been put on hold for the time being. We have now decided to open a North Devon branch offering tickets and travel to games. To join and help out with running the branch send me a PM and i will reply asap.

Cheers
Does does the North Devon branch still exist?
