Did City bid for Young?

If we made an enquiry about Young, it will have been out of interest for if we missed all our real targets. Does anyone honestly think that if we really wanted to sign Ashley Young, we would have let the rags get him for £15 million!!? Even if we didn't get him we would have driven it up at least £10 mil.

Peter Spencer is a rag sympathiser who stirs shit about City whenever he can. This is the bloke who said the crowds at City's & Utd's parades looked about the same to him!!! He regularly used to do wind up stories about our best players signing for the rags, always in the run up to derbies, back in he days when we had nowt.

Just because City weren't linked with Young much in the press, doesn't mean we didn't make enquiries. Maybe he made it clear he wanted to go to Utd, or maybe we thought we could get Sanchez? I recon if we'd really wanted Young we would have got him. He'd be happy to link up with Milner & Barry & we would have outbid the rags. Whatsmore we would have been trying to do the deal ages ago if we wanted him & the rumour would have been out months ago, as it was with the rags.

At best it will have been a tentative enquiry. We've probably made many of those with many players, just testing the water.

I would urge all blues to treat this "story" with contempt if Mancini ever wanted Young he'd have enquired about him same time he signed Milner surely?
