I do believe City showed interest so Utd had to up the price and the wages. Just a typical City game to make them pay through the nose i feel. I don't think we were really interested in him though, just to make the rags cough up a bit more and to piss them off.

I do not believe for one second we wanted to sign Young, im pretty sure we can easily get better than him. A typical average joe signing by Manchester United.

Must say i have been shocked at some of the thigns being said about ashley young in the past week or so.

"he will fill the void left by ronaldo."

"he will be the next ryan giggs."

Dont get me wrong, i think young is a perfectly fine player, but if i were drafting a team, i would take nani OR valencia, even a downing over him, let alone a player like silva, ronaldo, or giggs. hes a good player, nothing more.
