Not really.
If they're not good enough to make the grade, then they don't deserve to play.
Hopefully in 10-15 years time well be bearing the fruit of the new academy, and there will be a number of English lads making the grade, hopefully even local Manc lads.
In the meantime, this is our reality. But due to the level we're now accustomed to, it'll be harder than ever for a young player to make the grade, and even then young players from abroad will have an advantage over the English lads due to the better standard of coaching they receive as children. If we're going to hoover up other academies talents too, then this is something we'll have to look at carefully if we're to really produce English players capable of succeeding in a side as competitive as ours now is.
