No, simply because Arsenal and other teams have been doing it for years, or fielding just the one and they were not ruining football or England, so why are big bad City considered as to doing that?

Fuck em, we want to win the league and we will only do it by fielding what Pellegrini thinks is his best team. If that means Milner, Hart, Richard, Rodwell or Lescott sit out then I'm sure we will likely see them featuring in other games.

Don't think this issue is jingoistic at all.
I couldn't believe it when my mate mentioned it at the game. Obviously, normally we have Joe but this was our first all-foreign premier league start.
We used to have lads actually from Manchester not that long ago. It doesn't bother me but it's a shame. I used to fell more of an affinity with local lads such as SWP. As others have said though, it's a national problem & the FA is a clueless old-boys network IMO.
 
No. Pantilimon HAD to play instead of Hart. I prefer Zab to Richards. I prefer Nastasic to Lescott. I prefer Fernandinho to Rodwell (but he's always crocked anyway, so it doesn't matter). I prefer Nasri and Silva to Milner (but Jimmy is awesome). We can't keep a few English players in just for the sake of it. If we have better players than them (which we do), we should play the better players.
 
No, it didn't bother me at all. It was nice to have an all English City team winning the title and a couple of other trophies in the late 60s but it's not the be all and end all. I seem to remember one or two of KK's teams starting without an English player, I don't recall much fuss about it.

In fact, checking it out, the "Feed the Goat" derby was one example:

Schmeichel, Dunne, Wiekens, Mettomo, Jensen, Tiatto, Sun,Berkovic, Foe,Goater,Anelka.

It would be truly great if we had English players coming through our system and hopefully in the future they will.

Incorrect, the FA fucked English football it is their responsibility to ensure that football in England is run correctly in producing players eligible to play for England by birth are produced Unfortunately due their incompetence and desire to ensure that the next jolly is sorted they have done nothing to ensure that the stock of player is not being produced. They spent £1B building Wembley whereas countries at the top of the FIFA ranking don’t have national stadium they have not ensured that there are sufficient coaches and facilities to develop talent and now we have the buffon Dyke running the show.

So to answer the original question, like the vast majority of fans, I only care what City are doing that’s where I watch my live football so don’t give a dam where they were born it’s a global league and we have a global squad

Unfortunately it isn't though. Look at the record the fuckers have of winning the league. Regardless of them being shite, they still won the league 5 out of the last 7 seasons with a very strong English and Brit presence in their side.

Oh, and this has fuck all (for me any way) to do with jingoistic tendencies (I'm a jock and couldn't give a fuck about the England national team, or if we are nurturing players who will do a good job for that lot), it's about us winning the league, and I just think that a few decent English players wouldn't go amiss in our starting 11. Yep, the English players cost more, and regardless of how we think about how much GCP paid for Ferdinand and Rooney, the end results justified the outlay.
 
Nope. Don't care less where they are from as long as they do the business for City.
The FFP could have a lot to do with it also as it seems as soon as you play 10 games in the championship, if English your valued at 8-15 million. Teams who used to take a punt on these players often now cant afford to, especially when you get like for like from abroad for cheaper. Top level English players now come with an additional premium on the fee simply due to their English so in complying with the FFP we can get just as good abroad for cheaper. I mean look at the fees for Zaha and Navas as an example

Was thinking more about the current rag team tbh malg..Zidane, Zaha ha ha,Stan,Welimeshite,Lady G'diver,smalltime & Carrickature etc.. ;)
