Did New Order write the most infectious songs ever?

New Order are my favorite band, and I don’t know about the “catchiest” ever tunes, but they are certainly on the list.

However — there’s one obvious competitor to them and it certainly isn’t Crowded House or U2 (The Unforgettable Fire immediately disqualifies them; it was the OPPOSITE of catchy; ENO produced it!)

It is quite clearly The Beach Boys.

Edit — wait. Ok, Bowie was catchy, and Eno produced a lot of his stuff.

I loved New Order from Blue Monday up to the mid 90’s when they started to lose their touch

Got every album through that period and saw them live at the Hacienda which was one of the best gigs I ever want to

But I’ve hardly listened to any of their stuff for years. Just got bored of them I think. No doubt I’ll ‘rediscover’ them in the future and remember how brilliant they used to be

The last time I saw them live was at the Barrowlands in Glasgow and they had a bust up before and obviously during and didn’t do an encore and everybody was totally fucked off.

Still like the cunts though.

They never used to do encores full stop!

What I meant was they stormed off without having completed their full set. We had seen the before and every single person in there was fucking raging and booed the cunts. You want our cash, play, then go off and knock fuck out of each other.

Or, knock fuck out of each other, guitars over the head, mic stands in the face, cracked sideways by a flying high hat, whatever, so we can at least enjoy that.
