I don't understand why people are getting so much stick for making what are very good points about what was essentially a major fuck up last night. I understand the point of view of wanting to back the manager in the face of a Sky Sports and media backlash who are clearly trying to embarrass the club after an unbelievable victory. However, on here we should be able to speak our minds and last night we made an error. It's not all on Pellegrini, but he holds the responsibility.
The other day Didsbury Dave said any of our fans that want Real Madrid or Barcelona in the next round were not wanting the best for the club. Well the error last night has made that a possibility. I'm not particularly interested in 'well we could have got Juventus or Dortmund' because in my eyes there is a very clear difference in the quality of the teams that have won the group and those finishing second and I like the probabilities of getting an easier draw if we'd topped the group.
I'm not a wum, I'm not a rag, I'm not ungrateful or spoilt. I'm not anti-Pellegrini or yearning for Mancini. I didn't prefer it when we were playing York away. But I am slightly pissed off that the club is capable of making an error that they shouldn't have. I couldn't believe the way we were playing those last 20 minutes. A famous victory seemed more important than risking a draw and going for the bigger picture. Joe Hart and a few others were time wasting! It was akin to Alan Ball v Liverpool without quite the same consequences. Now we know it's because the club didn't know, it's not good.
no, you're not any of those things. You are, I suspect, too intellectually advanced for most on this thread.
your post is spot-on, but is drowned out by the 'grow some balls and stop trying to weasel an easier draw' crowd.
